Great stove but turn it of when pre-heating. I do like the Optimus Polaris and MSR Whisperlite more because they have the shaker jet. I went with the Polaris because the pump is just awesome and i also dont need to change jets.

Hello sir, Years ago i bought the Omnilite. The pump did not work. Without even using it had to send it back. After 3 months got it back. They gave me a new pump for free. But had to call atleast 10 times. Tried it outside at my frontdoor. Shit, the pump was leaking. Did not gave it 3 pushes so there was not even any pressure at all. Called and took my motorcycle out. 140 km futher i was at the shop. They did not had a pump on stock. And wanted to take it to send it to Sweden i beleive. Counted till ten. He looked funny at me while doing that. Told him that i allways do that when i am getting the feeling of becoming agressive. He gave me another pump from another complete package. Drove home. Tried it and it worked. Put it away. A month later a buddy came over. With a few months i was going on a large motorcycle trip with him. He wanted to see the Omnilite. So i got it and set it up in my kitchen. On the glas plate of my electric cooker. Set it up and set it on fire. It burned. My buddy said " damn, that is a lot of noice". Put a kettle on it with just half a liter water. So we were waiting a few minutes. And then suddenly there came leaking gasoline over the glas plate. It was leaking again. Probably right from the start but it had to build up to become visible. Quickly turned it off before the gasoline got on fire. Called the shop again. The telefone number did not exist anymore. Checked the website and it was not there anymore. So took the pump apart. Only that black plastic part on the upperside where the tube is connected. Could not see anything. Put some sillicone on it and putted it back together. Ok ? It did not leak anymore. Finally. We were heading of to Sweden on our bikes. We would do a lot offroad and our plan was no plan. Just to ride and have fun. A beautifull country btw. The first time i took the Omnilite out it leaked ! Again ! Did the same steps and after that it was ok. So time to put the pan on it. After 20 seconds we heard a light metal " cling " ? And a lot of noise and a constantly sputtering noise. Turned it of immediatly. Took the pan off the Omnilite. Ok ? Where is that metal thing that was mounted at the top of the burner ? The metal that had to spread the flame ? It was gone. That was the clingy sound we heard. It was next to the Omnilite laying in the sand. Put it back on the burner and waited before it was cooled down. Set it on fire again and even before putting the pan on it just jumped of the burner again. With a little force. 😡 It did that every time just as it got hot. It jumped right of the burner. It would not stick at its place. When it was cold it was sticking to the burner and you needed a bit of force even when you took it of the burner. And no way to seat it even tighter. So we had to use a screwdriver to keep it on the burner while cooking. And every day we had to take the pump apart because of the leaking. Back home i had the tools to bent the metal so it would be sticking to the burner. 3 years ago while one vacation had the Omnilite burning. I had it sitting on a flat stone. Wanted to make coffee and tried to boil one liter water. Wanted to pick something out of the tent. But when i came back to the Omnilite just one or two minutes later a big part of the stone was burning.😬 It must have started to leak again. Got it out with throwing sand over it several times. Waited 10 minutes before i approuched the damn thing. Cause you never know. The whole bottle had been in the fire. All the plastic had melted. It became on big mess. Shit. At the beginning of this year i saw that there was a new Omnilite. A V2. What i noticed immediatly was that the metal that constantly jumped of the burner had now a spring attached to it. So i thought that it must have been a designflaw and that many others also had that problem. And the added spring must have been their solution to it. But it was out of stock. 4 weeks later got a mail that they had new ones. Sadly i had to order one with another 0.6 l bottle in the package. Because i wanted a larger fuell bottle. Because of the possibility to use it as reserve fuell for the motorcycle at the same time. After 2 weeks did not receive anything. So i mailed the seller. They did not have it on stock and needed to order it themselfs. Hmmm, not ok. They should have told me in advange. But they told me i should get it within 2 weeks. Those two weeks became 2 months. 😮‍💨 And then my therapist tells me that i have trustissues. How strange is that ? In a world that is getting more dishonest by the minute it seems. But finally i received my new Omnilite version 2.👍👍👍💪💪💪 I know, i know. Although i am old i sometimes still feel as a little kid. And i am hoping that this never changes. Opening the package. And hey, my first thought was " the pump is still the same " ? Went to my garage and filled the bottle with some gasoline for the lawnmower. Went back to my frontdoor. Not the same one as before because a few years back went from the city to the countryside. No neighbours is heaven. It is so nice to turn on the knob of my Denon PMA 2000R and getting some loud Eek-a-Mouse through my beloved B&W 604 S3 speakers. While it bothers no-one. That is a feeling i can not discribe. Freedom. Ok, back to the Omnilite V2. The new and better version of the Omnilite i bought so long ago and that dissapointed me for so many years. Pump, pump , pump, pump , pump ? , pump ? , what ? , the pump was leaking.😬😬😬😬😬😬 Just on the exact same spot as the other one. 😮‍💨😮‍💨😮‍💨😮‍💨😮‍💨😮‍💨😮‍💨😮‍💨 Contacted the store. They are completely sold old. And do not even think they are getting new stock in less then a few months.😬😬😬😬 Should i have bought something from MSR ? I have a Biolite. The reason i was looking on the web for another burner was that as you told the Biolite is not very practical. Not easy to burn well and clean. And when it burns you need to keep filling it constantly. And throw in to much wood then it goes out. Or the wood sticks out and you cannot put a pan on it. And the wood needs to be dry is hell. Where are you going to find that in the morning when you crave a cup of coffee. No i thought. Need something that i can turn a knob, hold a lighter to it and then it must burn. Just simply burn. Burn without any hassl. Clean and easy burn. Burn. Pffff. Two Omilites, One Biolite. Almost 800.00 Euro's down the road in total. I must be nuts.

You also could buy a Harvast freezedryer. And make your meals at home. On Amazon you can buy the special alu bags for that. It will taste much better then the stuff from Mountainhouse. And i can even tell you that this brand is the best that is out there. The others taste ten times worse. And you have that is still good after 30 years. From the shelf. It will be paying itself back over time. Cause food in 5 years time will be 10 times expensive then today. See it as an investment if a s.h.t.f. does not happen sir. Also it preserves vitamines and so on way better then other methods. And also. In a few years you will get a carbon footprint monitoring system. And if you go beyond what is assigned to you then your account will be set on hold. How nice it will be when you have food for several years to come. Even 30 years.

Great analysis of the food preparation situation in the Ukraine. If for any reason the power grid went down here in the USA around any major Democratically controlled area (like Boston, LA, NYC, etc.) …and especially when you factor-in our Nations lack of civility issues, the sh!t would hit the fan here very badly here. Things would be much worse than in the Ukraine. The Ukrainians over all are God loving nation, with love and respect for their fellow citizens; can we say the same about America today? Furthermore, with our current President's severely hampered mental capacity, now would be the opportune time for our enemies to hit us... all's they'd have to do is take down a few major American city’s power grids and we'd destroy ourselves for them!
