I love the Sky Sled, but am I the only one bummed out by the fact they included Adam rather than an army builder figure or no figure at all? I like the Adam figure, but if you want multiples of these (which was obviously Mattel’s intention), you’ll end up having multiple Adam figures. Seems like an army builder figure (Palace Guards/etc) would have been more practical.

Hopefully they will release a full Battle Ram in the future, with both the Sky Sled and an army builder figure. A palace guard would be ideal.

It was absolutely a dumb idea to put a unique character with the sky sled. We brought this up to Mattel at powercon. They said that was a good idea and they’d look into it but obviously they don’t care about fan feedback. I’ll only buy one now instead of multiple. Bad move Mattel.

Lassi Kinnunen But that’s the thing - they did assume some people would buy multiples. Otherwise, they wouldn’t have added the extra pieces to convert it to the bad guys’ version of the sled. So again, why not be practical and include an army-building figure instead? It’s just a dumb decision. As a collector, I actually would’ve bought a few of these but now I won’t. They’ve lost some money there. And I’m sure I won’t be the only one.

That's a really good point, considering they made the head on the sky sled swappable, people are going to buy a few of these and have extra Adams on hand. Man, I already dislike this line.

With the swappable parts you can take Adam's gripping left hand and swap it with He Man's so he too can hold on to the sled with both hands.

Yeah. I was thinking the same thing. And since many will get at least two sky sleds, they'll also have two Adams and two left hands (with two ugly head sculpts as well).

I really just found out about this new line late last month. As soon as I discovered it I bought He-Man and Skeletor, and then last week I ordered Man-at-Arms and Hordak! (my absolute *FAVORITE* MotU figure ever since the original, which I first got when I was 9 years old back in '85.) I just now ordered the Skysled and Prince Adam set, and also Trap Jaw... and his looks absolutely *RAD*. I plan on trying to pick up one or two of these guys each month; I figure my *very* limited fixed income should be able to handle that much. I don't actually collect action figures, but this line just looks SO damn good with all the articulation, (basically they look just like the originals only BETTER!) the price point is within my reach, and because the original Masters of the Universe line was so central to my and my brother's childhood, that I just cannot resist these guys. I truly hope they sell well to contemporary kids so that they can have the same fun with He-Man that I did as a kid, and also so Mattel is able to justify continuing the line.

I actually feel relieved seeing my Adam figure’s face in person. I wasn’t impressed seeing the face online but now it looks a lot better and will definitely want He-man now since both heads are pretty much the same.

I have to say it was a good call for Mattel to rethink their strategy and step away from stuff like that new head sculpt and basically no action features at all. The visual changes compared to vintage have become much more subtle and Origins now stands as a very.. VERY nice and comprehensive line within the franchise.

Walmart should have a toy section that is all vintage. It's not like they're short on product. MOTU, G1, The Real Ghostbusters, Star Wars retro and the "retro" Gi Joe line.

I will be swapping the heads over on Adam and He-Man. Although the OG toys had the same hair color, the Filmation animation model had adam sporting the lighter hair and He-Man the darker.

If I had to guess, I'd say that the battle ram will be released with its own sky sled eventually. That way collectors won't be forced to have multiple Adam's just to get the sleds. Wonder if they'd re-release the sled with a Keldor figure?

Great toy! Nice bridge between collector and kids. This is a better offering by Mattel than I have expected. It is a toy but it’s got enough to make collectors happy. Interchangeablility, flight stand, and blast effects. Very nice.

The dark warrior battling Teela is straight from the vintage Battle Ram packaging - love it. It's cool these are coming, even if there's no desire from my side to replace Classics or even just start another collection. It's a shame that scalpers seem to be hogging supplies now, but I guess this will work in favor of the line (re-releases of popular items due to fast sellouts which imply high demand) and in turn might actually work against scalpers in the long run. Here's me crossing my fingers for everyone who wants those.

Defo gotta get this and He-Man, need a wide release She-Ra and Adora too! Last time vintage style She-Ra was made was an SDCC exclusive which unfortunately screws over those like myself that can't go easily in the UK and then the Super7 She-Ra figs had major issues.

Great vehicle! I gotta say that I like the shovel-like shape on the original a bit more, but it's a very cool representation. It's a good thing that you can actually sit the characters on it; that tends to be a problem with a lot of lines, like TMNT for example.

I love these and want all of it. However, they've had plenty of time to fix the sword handle issue since the con exclusive set was released. There is no excuse, none, as to why they couldn't just make the handle slimmer or make the grip larger. It couldn't cost that much to remold either one. Considering they went ahead with the WWE line, it follows that all they would need to change is the sword's handle. While I'm disappointed in that detail, I still look forward to the line. Maybe they will fix things later on.

Great Vehicle. Hope they come up with an armed, two-seated (side by side) Wind Raider this time. My favourite vehicle was the Fright Fighter. Enclosed cockpit, flapping wings action (reminded me of the ornithopters in Dune), articulated guns, a clamp...lots of fun and great design.

I get the feeling toys are aimed more at adults than kids these days. There seems to be a lot of retro figures based off old toy lines, rather than new stuff. Kids don't seem to have anything today like what kids had in the 80s and 90s. Maybe that's why toy companies are focusing on adult collectors more.

I just realized that Prince Adam seems to be the only figure where the hands are wider open for ticker handles. So no other figure can grab the Sky Sled and Adam can't grab any other weapon than his sword... 🤷🏻‍♂️🙄😳

I think Mattel should reissue the Classics line instead of these updated vintage figures. The Classics line is by far the best of MOTU. If Mattel did that, they’d make mad money.

Love they released the sky sled alone. When I was a kid I never got to be able to play with the sky sled (that was probably the most used ship in the cartoon seconded by may be Attack Track) cause it was really expensive (At least in my country). The Sky sled alone for sure would have costed way less.

I don't like the bigger silver gun on the sled, hurts the aesthetics. The Classics one win the beauty contest, which I guess isn't surprising. Props for being able to make the evil version, though. And for the stand It was so lame not use the other He-Man head or create a new one for Adam. At least they gave him two gripping hands.

Mattel has been impressing me more than Hasbro lately , the box art and the toys look great, but this Wal-mart crap with shipping crushing boxes and pre-orders not working is just horrible Mattel's relaunch of Jurassic park has been awesome, i haven't bought any yet but some have really been nice, Dan always tries to be nice at toy fair and the shows that the reps show up at, not sure if it will do any good to tell these companies that this just sucks and they need to do better

🤯 *curious/ missable detail:* the right side of the hinge joint on the flight base is a small flat steel disk, whereas the left side of it is sculpted blue plastic (which perfectly fits the style of the rest of the vehicle). as soon as I noticed it I told my Son to run and get a magnet off the fridge. sure enough, it sticks! this has got my imagination in overdrive, thinking about what this could mean for magnetic components of He-Man toys to come! just got this for my Son. we're so excited, and are having a great time with it as well as the rest of this line so far! (and some of my vintage MOTU, and some stuff from Loyal Subjects; scale is weird, but whatever LOL)

I love these figures. And I really don't want to gripe. But I do hope they release the sky sled by itself or maybe with an army builder figure, like maybe a palace guard. I really don't want to have to figure out what to do with extra Prince Adam figures if I buy more than one Sky Sled. But really that's my only gripe here. Beautiful stuff.

The target by my house had these for 50% off. I bought 1 of them but should’ve got all of them. I forgot at the time you could change the parts for the villain version! When I went back, they were gone 😂. At least the one I have has the updated sword handle and everything but damn. Wish I bought an extra

I like the sky sled. It's a great piece prince Adam's ok just the face. You can swap prince Adam's hands and put them on heman. So he can ride the sky sled. Hope Mattel brings out a ram man figure need that in 5inch. And different figures we haven't got like moteeg etc. Great review fan.

I don't know if this was common but my Adam (that i got 2nd hand through ebay because i didn't want/need the sky sled) his tunic was seemingly glued on roughly from the belt buckle downward. I could PROBABLY have separated it with a exacto knife but didn't want to risk cutting belt and ruining the tunic. (UPDATE) So it took some pulling but i was able to get the vest off without ripping it along the belt (your kind of have to pull it down till it's practically inside out along the waist) I managed to pull it off the glue and it left a bit of pink glue residue but I'm sure i can scape/sand it off. So just wanted anyone else who wanted to try removing the vest that it IS possible.

I think this Sky Sled is an impromement to the vintage toy, and i like it, theres not to many changes but the changes looks great like the guns and the control panel make it more stiled , Hasbro should take notes and do this kind of improvements on the G.I.Joe. vehicles on the new "Retro" line ;)

It may be because I got a new wave, but my He-Man(same wave as LOP Merman) and Adam(from this set) look very different(the head, at least). One of the down sides of this set is that the support doesn’t come off easily(like the Wind Raider, for exemple). The features of changing the Sled are awesome, but it has no storage for the extra parts. Anyways, I got this for less(than the equivalent of) 26 dollars so I’m not complaining.

I just did the exact same thing today. Not sure why they're selling it so cheap but not complaining. My local Target had nearly twenty on the shelf and only $15, same price as just a single regular figure.

*Battle Ram attachment theory:* my bet is that it will involve the swappable side panels. maybe there will be some (retractable?) arms on the Battle Ram that will clamp onto the sides of the where the red/green dragons go. (p.s. no offense: they're not gators; gators don't have wings on their elbows 😅)

Just looking at the sky sled, I would say they didn't design it with the intention of having the full battle ram. Unless they had the engines in the back slot in, there doesn't really seen to be anything designed to hold it in place, and even those would be iffy to me. I stil haven't decided if I want to get these new figured yet. I haven't seen anything other then Battle Cat in the store.
