I see this building almost every weekend. One of my favorite forest preserves, I go walking there all the time. I knew some of this information. Very cool to learn so much! Thanks

Amazing document. Great work. I bike through there all the time and take the original trail just for fun and memories...I always imagine what it was like back in the day and now I have a much better understanding. Map makers? Wow. Maybe you can touch on Prince Crossing Stables just north of there and the Baker house. Thank you for your time and effort.

Excellent history on this bit of the Chicago, Aurora & Elgin interurban railroad. Let's hope your story here "generates" more interest and work towards the preservation of this electric substation for future generations. Thanks for sharing!

I always dreamed of living there! Not sure that's feasible though, sadly.

The photo you showed of the model railroad club is actually the Garfield Clarendon Model Railroad club in Chicago at the Clarendon Park field House, the gentle,an on the right is Bernie Hotzel I believe, I was a member of that club in the 1980s and recognize that part of the layout and spent many hours there. .

That is an excellent catch! Our apologies. Looking back at the newspaper article, this picture was actually associated with a story on the previous page of the newspaper, which highlighted the Garfield Clarendon Model Railroad Club. Unfortunately, it was placed next to a brief description of a Salt Creek Model Railroad Club event. Our bad. We need to be more careful. Thanks again for spotting that!
