We needed a break from the 80’s & seeing how some “fans” are, if we just focused on the 80’s, once we got to the 90’s & beyond, they would go away and we can’t lose people. There's tons of music for a Parade super deluxe. I've been a fan since the very first single "Soft & Wet" and a super fan since "Why You Wanna Treat Me So Bad". The releases thus far have been based on best selling (PR), breakthrough (1999), masterpiece (SOTT), a real never before release (W2A), and now the best selling from the 1990's era (DP). For me now they can go back to the 1980s stuff. It's interesting "I Wonder" didn't make the list.

We as fans are so lucky to have an artist like Prince, who lived music day and night. I think sometimes as fans we take it for granted. I don't believe there is any other artist dead or alive that has the catalog like Prince. No disrespect, but you aren't going to see Super Deluxe Box sets from George Michael, Whitney Houston, Michael Jackson, Tom Petty, etc... As for the Music Video collection on the Blu-Ray, when they said it’ll be “Restored” I sure hope they actually came across the original film negatives and gave ‘em the 4K/HD treatment. Anything but the lazy “Upscaled” treatment. (Unless not all of them were shot on film)

Just for people like me who were curious : 180-gram vinyl is a vinyl record that has been made using a greater quantity of polyvinyl chloride (PVC) pellets. This makes them heavier than standard vinyl albums. Modern records typically use between 120 gram and 160 gram vinyl.

Regarding the press release stating that this was the first album with the NPG. There were several lineup changes between Graffiti Bridge and D&P. Sonny T taking over on Bass. Levi moving over to guitar with Miko leaving and of course Tommy Barbarella coming in after Fink left. Cream is indeed Prince's first and only number one that wasn't soundtrack related

The crazy thing is they could have waited to release Diamonds & Pearls. I say this because us fans mostly want Parade Super Deluxe. Signs super Deluxe only covered 85-86 the real sound prince mastered is 85 to 89 for sure. When the 90s he switched his drum kit completely and the sonics of prince music changed. Only the slow ballads mirror the era of the 80s

true, but Prince and the New Power Generation started with a certain composition. The touring Original NPG band is usually what people consider "the NPG", even though the new power generation was just always "prince's backing band" up until he switched to 3rd Eye Girl

Will they put it through a 'Loutdness Wars' sound filter - like they did for everthything apart from SOTT box? What they did to 1999 (5cd box), Purple Rain (3cd) and Live Syracuse - LOUDALLTHETHETIME - with PR having a dynamically destrayed score of 7, versus 13 on the original CD relase - is a crime against music. SOTT remaster is conspicious because it's not dynamically destroyed.

I've only bought 1 deluxe and that was Purple rain, it had the album, outtakes, B sides the DVD of the live show, everything I really want, oh , and a nice booklet, cost about £30 . I've just picked it up and it's great. Look how overblown this all is. This was really great because it was actually his his best loved album!. In my opinion they are just fleecing the fans, if they wanted to sell records to the wider public , they'd have made it like the purple 1 I have. I've decided , as a lover of new music and bands, I'd rather spend my £ on new music, gigs and new bands. Enjoy the release all, at least it'll put prince in people's minds again , which is great, always be missed !

Full confession, i was sorta meh on Prince in the 90's. I was excited for Emancipation and the self distribution of Crystal Ball but feel D and P was the leader becoming the follower and the associated acts were uninspiring.
