Prince did want to fire all of the Revolution due to high tension...but Dr Fink didnt cause issues so Prince kept Fink for a while

I like Spotify as much as the next person but I have issues with music streaming platforms as well. The problem with these music streaming platforms is that these artists don’t make money off their albums. That’s why I buy the CD to support the artist

Tipper Gore was never a First Lady. She became the Second Lady when Bill Clinton became the president & that was almost a decade later after Purple Rain came out. At the time Tipper proposed the idea of warning labels on album covers was when Al was senator. Honestly one of the reasons why I don’t like Tipper Gore is b/c of her warning labels idea but thankfully now with streaming music platforms, warning labels don’t mean much anymore

I hate to get too off topic but I love your t-shirt! Is The Little Mermaid your favorite Disney movie? Honestly I never thought of Prince as being too political. I don’t usually pay attention to song lyrics. I pay more attention to whether or not I like the actual song. He certainly wasn’t as woke as today’s pop stars

JUST SAW THIS VIDEO, 6 YEARS LATER ( ITS NOW 2025 ) I WANTED TO LET EVERYONE KNOW ALICE COOPER IS NOT A CHRISTIAN! WE CAN SEE THIS BY HIS MUSIC, IMAGE AND STAGE SHOWS. JESUS WOULD NEVER JOKE AROUND OR PRETEND TO BE SATAN IN ANY WAY FOR AMUSEMENT OR FOR ANY REASON. THAT IS ANTI GOD! JESUS ALSO SAYS THAT YOU CANNOT SERVE TWO MASTERS! YOU WILL EITHER LOVE ONE AND DESPISE THE OTHER. THERE IS NO MIDDLE .. GOD IS ALL THINGS LOVING AND GOOD, AND SATAN IS ALL THE THINGS HATEFUL AND BAD! THATS IT..

Sounds like CoAmerics is taking the British Museum’s stance when African and Asian countries request their kingdoms jewels including the bones/remains of soldiers and that is ‘we wont give it back but we’ll lease them to you’ or ‘you wouldn’t know how to care for the things we stole from you’. Also CoAmerica was in legal trouble before Tyka agreed to sign over Prince’s estate to them. One more thing, rich people rarely have wills, instead they have trust which is not made public knowledge. CoAmerica needs to be investigated by the feds and the Nelsons deserve their brother’s estate. I’m writing this 4years after that vid. Tyka’s passed away in 2024. Has anything changed with the estate? Has the IRS completed its investigation with CoAmerica? Are the siblings still fighting for their inheritance or is CoAmerica still trying to make them jump through hoops?

Alice Cooper's father was a pastor and while he was shocking at the time in the 1970s he was never "anti-Christian" nor with any religious overtones.

Dez was a great compliment to Prince on guitar. The interplay between them on "Dirty Mind " has some of the best twin guitar lines I've ever heard. I wish he would have stayed in the band longer.

Pop Life was the inspiration for the Waterboys hit, Whole of the Moon. Pop Life itself was an homage to John Lennon’s sound in the 70s.

My take is it was a combination of things over time that ate away at Dez and Andre... 1/ Prince did not allow them to play and contribute on the albums fully as a band during their time with him 2/ Prince didn't allow them to be involved enough in the songwriting during their time with him and did not give them proper credit on the songs they were involved with 3/ Prince was too controlling over their look, style and playing 4/ Prince underpaid them the entire time they worked for him and especially considering the amount of relentless hours he worked them in almost daily rehearsals for hours on end as well as the lengthy tours 5/ Prince had a habit of promising things that he later backed out of including things like THE REBELS project, etc which disappointed and disillusioned band members like Dez, Andre and later Brownmark. 6/ Prince had a home, a studio, a ride and so much more while the band could barely afford similar except for Dez who was really savvy about saving money but even then it wasn't enough to keep Dez in the band If Prince had shared songwriting and royalties/publishing with the band, let them play on his albums instead of being a one man band AND not been so dictatorial AND paid them well AND always lived up to his promises, Dez, Andre and later Brownmark would've all stayed longer. Ultimately Prince messed up.

The Gold experience is a good album, altho I don't think it comes anywhere close to stuff like Purple Rain or Sign 'O' the Times. During the 90's, Prince was losing touch with the music scene at the time, so a bunch of his work felt a bit dated compared to what many other artists were recording then. There was a lot more grit and realness to rock and pop rock and Prince, as good as a musician as he was, was still stuck in his 80's mode of songwriting. That said, he did manage to put out a few rare songs that reminded everyone that he was an artist of distinction. My absolute fave on this album is Billy Jack Bitch, which has the raw energy and hook that was starting to go soft on his music during this decade.

It is pretty clear to see why he fired The Revolution. Prince had some deep insecurities from childhood. His relationship with the Girl he was dating was the culprit. When you are an insecure person one behavior we see is when you are with another person you pull back to show yourself that they care by making them feel insecure. You make them feel that way by threatening the relationship. This is easy to see when you hear how Prince was acting at the time by destroying his guitar and not speaking to the other members. He was throwing a tantrum. Well? Prince pulled back and did not get the reaction he wanted so he made up reasons to break up the band as a way to punish the girlfriends for being too strong emotionally. The break up made no sense at all to the other members. I think this explanation is pretty easy to see.

Black Sabbath were all devout Christians. Dio was a devout Christian Vanity didn’t leave Prince, to become born again. The project was basically over, when he replaced her with Apollonia, in Purple Rain. Vanity already had problems, and Prince has many protégés/lovers, and many he has no sexual relationships with. Vanity went on trying to do music and was in movies for well over a decade after Prince. She went to Christianity, after years of drug abuse, and I think she had hepatitis and/or was HIV positive, before her short career in Christian entertainment.
