I love how the children are with their parents learning the art of meeting and greeting. They are not pushed to do or say any more than they are comfortable with. Their ease in these situations will come with time. Just a few answers or comments and you can see they are feeling proud of what they have contributed. No reason to push them into being uncomfortable. Katherine is a very skilled tutor and role model.

Yes, that is the key to the job of the monarchy: to want to meet people and most importantly be genuinely interested in them. George and Charlotte may be kind of shy, but they are learning not to be either afraid nor arrogant in such settings. Charlotte petting the dog was so natural. And what a dog!. The children should turn out beautifully. Kate and William have got their responsibilities both to the people and their children figured out, and have learned to enjoy them, not just grudgingly accept them. Well, the late Queen was the most perfect role model for their public duties they could have had. How could she not have gotten bored stiff pulling open curtains to reveal a plaque commemorating her visit to a shoelace factory or a firehouse for the 5,000th time? Yet, she always seemed pleased that her visit was being commemorated at all. And why? Because the people standing all around her were pleased.

Just love actually hearing some of the conversations 😊 Kate is so engaging and love how she makes sure the children are involved and explains things to them. So important for them to learn the skills they will need to feel comfortable greeting perfect strangers for the rest of their lives. I can imagine how intimidating it can be for all of them to always be in the public eye. Learning early how to handle the pressures will help them 😊 (spelling edit 😉)
