I had no idea that Mr. Markle lost his ability to to speak! So sad. What a horrible way to treat your father. I just lost my father in February. Unfortunately in the last few months we did not get along well. But when I was in fear of his passing I got on a plane to see him. I ended up being his MPA while he was hospitalized and my mom and sisters were sick and could not advocate for him. My husband and I were in contact with him, his nurses and doctors everyday. I will never regret being there for him and being able to say goodbye.

They're wonderful, loving people who have done an awful lot more for me than they had to, and when they can they are happy to lend me their time. But they also have their own lives, and have obligations to people other than me! It would be selfish and disrespectful of me to demand that they put aside those obligations, and their own honor, in order to cater to my wishes (unless something catastrophic happened to me or I was literally dying, in which case they would come no matter what, probably bearing donuts). Of course, I also *have never* and *would never* treat my parents the way Harry has treated his. I imagine they would find it a little more difficult to make time for me if I treated them like that. They are kind and loving, but they aren't doormats. It would be unfair, to say the least, to expect that of them.

During one of his disappearances, I had a major operation for an ongoing medical condition, which he knew about. He didn't visit me in hospital, didn't call, didn't support my son who is an only child or me and because he also has a piss poor relationship with the rest of the family, didn't even know I had the surgery. So when he eventually called because he wanted to spend Christmas, I told him where to go and I told him why. He was mad at ME for not telling him I was having surgery! Now we don't speak and I would also be 'too busy' to see him were he to suddenly arrive in London! (He lives in Birmingham) Brothers, fathers, sisters, nieces are words we use to describe close relationships, but for them to be meaningful, the relationship has to be cultivated and honoured and respected, of course not all the time, but most of the time. Harry and Meghan do not honour, respect, or cultivate any of their family relationships, so no one is dropping anything because they demand it, but their narcissistic outlook on life prevents them from realising that. I put myself in HMK shoes, and I'll do exactly the same. Anyone who claims otherwise, imo is being disingenuous or is narcissistic like my brother, Harry, and Meghan. Given the precedent they've set for ruthlessly betraying and cutting off family members, karma would be in 20-30 yrs, Archie and/or Lilibet write a memoir selling out H&M, that not only would top the sales of Spare, but would result in H&M being similarly ex-communicated as "toxic parents". You have to wonder if those kids will eventually resent being kept from both sets of grandparents and aunts, uncles, cousins and being taught that throwing away family, publicly slandering them and holding grudges is perfectly acceptable.

I have a co-worker who is one of those defend M&H no matter what. We were discussing them one day and she told me "I don't believe any of the bad things that are said about them, I just don't watch things that are critical of them. I don't want to hear anything bad. They are perfect". That type of blind faith & support while actively ignoring any evidence to the contrary is baffling to me. It is even more confusing to me because we are in the US, no British connects at all and she is still so devoted to them.

Thank you.. Yes to all of this. I found you months ago but you guys quickly became one of my favorite commentary channels, specifically when it comes to the "Spare Bigots". Aside from the fact that I agree with your thoughts on these traitors, I love the fact that you come together as a couple to offer insights from both a male and female perspective. You guys prove it's entirely possible to be an intelligent, passionate, strong minded and ambitious woman without emasculating your partner or treating him as an accessory, appliance, or ATM machine. And likewise, you can be an intelligent, sensitive, loving and supportive man without becoming a weak, subservient flying monkey who allows his partner to ruin lifelong relationships with family, friends and associates. You are exactly the type of couple H&M like to think they are, but sadly will never be.
