My children discovered yesterday that their father (my ex husband) has cancer, there is a massive ammount of unplesant History between them all. The only concern I had when a similar situation aroused with my children & their father, was will they be “hurt” more by being there for him or would old wounds get to heal. My son went every week to see his Dad, his sister wouldn’t go until my son , worrying that his sister would regret not saying goodbye, talked her into a reunion with their father. It backfired on my son, once “daddy’s girl” came around, my son was kicked to the curb, told his Dad was to ill for company, wasn’t told when he was moved into hospice.
