Prince Harry Spent Time w/ Spice Girls After Princess Diana’s Death, Mel C Recalls

Spice Girls superstar Melanie Chisholm aka Mel C chatted with Access Hollywood about her new memoir "The Sporty One: My Life as a Spice Girl." The singer opened up about her first impressions of the other Spice Girls, the surprising way they got their nicknames, the making of their hit song "Wannabe," her struggles with body image and an eating disorder, and more. Plus, Mel recalled her and the Spice Girls spending time with a young Prince Harry on a royal trip to South Africa during a "sensitive time" months after Princess Diana's death. "Both the princes losing their mom in that way at that time - it was tough to know how to approach everything. And we felt good about being there and just being a distraction and being fun," she shared. "The Sporty One" is available wherever books are sold.

It's bizarre how the Americans think of them primarily by their nicknames. And to think they made them up. As she said, it came from a magazine, the media picked up on the names in general and accelerated them. Their record company didn't start capitalising on the names until the second album

What a horrible interview, wasting half of the time making questions when the answers are widely known by now, like the nicknames origin, Simon Fuller, first impressions of the girls. Even Mel C could tell the interviewer didn’t read the book when she asked about the zigazigah meaning. Thumbs down 🤷‍♂️
