I agree, my Grandfather who was 16 when he signed up in 1914 and fought on Gallipoli, the Somme and Passchendale amongst other places, my uncles who fought in Greece, Crete, North Africa and Italy, or the uncle who served in the RNZAF in the Pacific in WWII and my Father who as an 18 year old fought in Korea ever speak about their service, the only thing they would talk about was the funny things or the weather, but never about the fighting, it was just too traumatic, I learnt not to asked questions.

I am an Army veteran who never experienced combat, however I have close friends--and a nephew--who did. A Vietnam "grunt", a Gulf 1 Marine machine gunner, and an armed-helicopter pilot in Afghanistan. None of them them has EVER spoken to me directly about killing enemy, much less specifying a number. What's more, in my four years on active duty, the same is true for the hundreds of military officers and enlisted soldiers I came in contact with. My read: anyone who would specify a "kill count" would be thought unmanly.

The only reason Harry is so infuriated with the British media, is because he expected them to only ever publish positive articles about Meghan, as they used to publish about him. He expected the British media to treat his wife exactly as they were treating him. As we know, Harry was the rebel royal, the bad boy, but essentially good. The media protected him quite a lot, perhaps out of sympathy, not because he earned it. This created an entitlement on Harry's part. An entitlement that included the media treating his wife the same way that they had treated him, regardless of whether her actions warranted it. And that's exactly where Harry made his mistake. The media had no allegiance to Meghan. Just like it never had an allegiance to Catherine early on. Everyone in the BRF (of the senior royals' children) had to EARN their public image, except William and Harry, largely because of sympathy for their mother's early death. Meghan was going to have to prove herself worthy of a great, positive, supported-by-all public image. But, because Meghan is such a flaming narcissist, she shot herself in the foot virtually from the get-go. And, unfortunately for Harry, if the media gets wind of your narcissism (arrogance, entitlement, jealousy, vindictiveness, lying, victimhood, ill-treatment of others, etc), you're up the creek without a paddle. If you're happy to marry a narcissist who brings out the worst in you, that's fine. Power to you. But don't turn around and blame the media for telling the truth. Sadly, your behaviour was always covered up. It's no wonder you can't stand the fact that the media is not still covering it up. Ultimately, though, the can is yours to carry. No one else's. Man up.
