'Prince Harry wants to destroy the monarchy!' Royal experts react to Spare | Palace Confidential. One of the most ‘disturbing’ narratives in Prince Harry’s memoir Spare, is his obsession with his brother William. That’s the view of Daily Mail’s Royal Editor Rebecca English, whose reporting of a breakdown in relations between the princes was often denied by the Palace. ‘The issue about the brothers is fascinating. It’s obsessional his relationship with his brother in this book and it’s quite disturbing actually in parts,’ she tells our royal talk show Palace Confidential. ‘He really has barely a nice word to say about his brother, it gives Cain and Abel a run for its money, it doesn’t strike me as healthy at all.’ The Daily Mail’s diary editor Richard Eden believes that Harry’s fixation on his brother has the duke on a collision course with the institution of the monarchy itself.

Harry was to be Williams wingman there to support him especially when he becomes king, apparently that is what Diana wanted for them both. Yes he has wonderful support with Catherine, but there was always a very strong bond between the boys that always looked like it would never be broken. Harry has done the unthinkable though. I would disagree with that statement he is merely telling what he felt and In my opinion I think the book was well written and was not as damaging as everyone is making it out to be.He did not destroy Camilla as everyone stated he and his brother has a not so bright past with each other and he is telling what he felt the things that he is telling about the media is nothing that is new and the relationship with his father you can feel the love he has for him he just wanted his father to lift him up a little more.I thought that the writer captured his military journey quite well and the media has taken it out of content.In this book I personally think that this is a grown man that has not deal with his losses well,and he is yawning for the love of his father and brother and if they read this book maybe they will feel his pain.I also think that the media needs to let this hatred are whatever this think is with this man and his wife go.Life is too short for all this negativity.

Regardless of his unpopularity in the UK, he's still popular here judging from book sales and reactions to his interviews. A lot of people like his personality. However, he wasn't the only one that suffered in their mother's death. William did too. But William, because of his role, will never be able to put out his tell-all book and tell his side. And I find that part not fair to William. I love both brothers, I love their mother, and also of course their grandmother the late Queen. Worst still, at prince Philips funeral he was in the middle of writing it! Knowing his gran is freshly widowed and probably won't be around much longer either. Prince Philips death should have been the wake up call to stop his silliness and soak up what years he had left with the Queen. Don't even need to move back but at minimum monthly visits. Not like he hasn't got the resources for that, he managed it when dating Meg and their silly rule of not being apart. I think Meg was so demanding for his attention she couldn't bare anyone else getting it. He will never get those final years back, grannys gone, it's over. What he can do now, is not repeat the mistake a 3rd time with his father. Go spend more time with him Harry, alone. Once bridges are mended maybe take the kids and then lastly if all goes well re-introduce the catalyst in the situation which is your wife. I do believe there is a way back but Harry needs to acknowledge the pain he has caused his old family before the healing can begin. Not sure he ever will until he stands up to his wife. I genuinely think Megan has got him to a point where him reaching out to family to fix this is weak. Like if he does that it is betraying her and his kids somehow. Your loyalty is with us or them type situation. She holds a lot of power over him now she has the kids. This is why especially as a royal you take your time to be sure they are the right partner. Once your in the circle of trust its near impossible to remove a person. Dread to think all the family secrets Harry has told her. Mark my words, she will take no issue with blackmailing her own husband the father of her children. The second he isn't in the kids life anymore she will start to turn them against him just like Doria has done with Thomas Markle. She is her mother's daughter. A weed smoking, flakey person who just floats through life letting the people she uses pick up the mess of destruction she leaves behind and then accuse those same people of abusing her by doing it. Final thought, I truly hope Harry is as happy as he says he is because he has ventured up sh1t creek and he has lost his paddle. Either it works with Meg or you don't get to see your kids and know they are being raised by an emotionally unstable and suicidal woman who cries over the tiniest of issues. In other words, your kids will end up being mini versions of her. Self obsessed, narcissistic, short sighted, not very bright people who think tearing down others publicly is an admirable quality to possess. I see it all. Tbf, I called Megxit as soon as their engagement was announced. I kept telling people I can't understand why an outspoken activist like Megan would want to join an institution which will silence her. Its a business. You dont join a business as an employee then start telling the directors how they are working wrong and dictating how its going to go. You fit in to the big picture and become part of a team. But team is the key word, I am yet to see one example of Megan working well in a team environment. She has sl@gged off anyone she has ever worked with including magazine editors and fashion houses. I just don't get how anyone can be so blind to this couples grift!

Harry wants to walk that back so bad - even tho it was quite obvious he was calling the RF racist. William was provoked by a reporter that asked him about that - and he had to say 'We are very much not a racist family'. And Harry is now walking that back? Asking about a child's skin color and apparently 'concerned' is indicative of racism.

When I was badly hurt by family, I wrote a letter to get all the pain, betrayal, anger, etc. off my heart. It took me hours to write but when I was done I felt a huge weight lift off me. NO, I did not send it or write a book. I burned it. That too was cathartic. I had some great counselling from a wonderful Christian counselor. I moved on by forgiving and did not allow it to control me. He needs the love and peace of Jesus in his life. May his heart be healed and eyes opened to God's truth. As for trusting Harry, I would be very wary. I believe he has been gaslit by his wife. Even the author who wrote about him and spent a year following him around said that he is not the man whom she wrote about. I noticed that after he married, he lost his joi de vivre. His smile is not the same and his eyes don't twinkle. May he grow up, wake up and be the person God designed him to be. God bless the Royal Family and keep them safe, especially from H&M.

I'm glad you got help and that your life is now better. The thing is, many people don't (want to) see that he's under immense pressure from his family, the public and the press to be a perfect person. When he so clearly is not. Could you imagine what would happen, if the press got wind that a high member of the royal family saw a therapist? They would have ripped him apart. After all he lost his mother in a clearly avoidable and senseless "accident" at a young age, he's a veteran (most likely to impress his grandparents in an attempt to earn their respect) that had to end peoples lifes and as many of you already recognised, he wasn't surrounded by the most emotionally stable and warm people. He's just not yet at the point to forgive his family for whatever (he thinks) they did to him. And that's his right. I find it highly debatable that so many people who can't even begin to imagine what he's gone through and the only ones who can dicided to sweep his feelings under the rug.. You can think of Meghan what you want, but did it ever occur to you that his grandparents weren't too pleased with him marrying an American woman with a darker skin complexion? Especially Philip. Maybe him losing his joy for life was caused only a tiny bit by having to defend his decision constantly? I'm not saying that the couple were racist, but they definitely were born in a time where black people weren't as respected as they are now? I can't imagine Lizzy and Phil were particularly pleased with the possibility that she could end up in or besides the british throne. That would explain his decision to get as far as possible from them.

There were almost 3000 auto fatalities in the UK in 1997. How many of those resulted in children losing one or both parents--children who didn't have access to sumptuous homes, exotic vacations, exclusive educations, bespoke clothing, and the finest medical care on the planet? Harry has got to stop feeling sorry for himself and appreciate the great opportunities he had. Losing a parent isn't easy at any age, regardless of how they died. Enough of this.

It's the therapy. The therapists will always maximise any trauma of any kind. I once worked for a Doctor with patients who all had private health insurance. The Doctor, in order to make as much money as possible, gave all the patients the impression that they were all at death's door! There was nothing wrong with any of them. They only went to the Doc for treatment because they had already paid for it. The same happens (probably) with psychotherapists.

And oh my God: the references to his "todger" and other disgusting things. But specific references to broken necklaces and Elizabeth Arden cream are baffling. I have never known a man to use references like that - they are feminine concerns. No man I know would specify what kind of cream he used on his "todger". It is the same behavior as my brother and sister in law. The insecure wife influenced my brother. After family gatherings they would later inform us of how offended and hurt they were by what others had said and done. They would ask for apologies and threaten never to speak to us again until they received an apology. It was nuts. We had no idea what they were talking about. Eventually we we would reconcile but the whole cycle would repeat itself. We came to understand that no matter how nice we were, they would find something and turn it into an offense. That is key. They chose to be offended. They would go away and isolate themselves- because of the wife. We did everything to make them happy. These “royals” are choosing to be offended. Years ago I read Andre Agassi's autobiography, ghost-written by the same author as Spare. In Agassi's book, his father was portrayed realistically as a hard-driving, almost fanatical coach, but his humanity remained intact. His wish for his son to be a tennis pro was extreme, but still funny at times. You saw the person, not a monster. You had compassion, not contempt. I haven't read Spare and have no interest to, but it seems this writer has forgotten that the way a person explains his experiences is through his own filter, and Harold's filter is of a childish, even ridiculous and mean, middle-aged man. Yes, he suffered an unspeakable tragedy, but so did William, who chose to live his life in a way that would make his mother proud. What has Harold chosen?

Maybe that’s the problem. Harry think William have everything and have moved on and Harry still on the same spot. But we need to understand that he was a immature child when his mom died and grieved as a child and grieved many times meanwhile he grow up during his childhood. It’s not until you are 16-18 years old you are mature enough to understand death are infinity. As Harry explain in the first part in the book was he try to tell himself that she would come back. That’s common with children that lost a parent or sibling. Also when it have gone five years the child start to grieve and then the child can start to do drugs and be self destructive or go into themself and end up in a shell that will be hard to get through. Kids often start to grieve when they bows the other in the family will survive the grieving and maybe Harry protected William and when he saw he was okay he started to griev five years later and that was when he was seventeen and started with drugs. So common when a child lost someone. He’s like a prime example of Alte Dyregroves book children in grief

Listening to Harry navigating these interviews with a very therapeutic approach to disclosure, I begin to get the feeling that his new handlers have capitalized on this. He's now the gift that keeps on giving & the trust he's placed in those who are in the position of trustee has been betrayed through this continuous encouragement to monetize his life's story. Meghan has overtly stated that she has kept - and probably continues to do so - a diary of her life within the family. He, too, has confessed to being encouraged to digitally record key moments of his life. I've the impression that we're witnessing an Amber Heard type construction of a narrative for a long-term aim with lucrative ends. Harry has willingly become the useful idiot, much to the detriment of himself, his family and his heritage. On another note, we need to remember that Harry & Meghan literally (Harry loves that word) perjured themselves when claiming they had no involvement in 'Finding Freedom'. They were 'literally feeding information' to the authors of this book (it's quite likely they commissioned the book as well). How the British courts accepted their claims of 'forgetting' their involvement is beyond reason. One might also wish to note that while Harry claims that the words from his mouth provide clarity, he also employs omission quite liberally. It has been reported that William had come to speak to Harry about their staff's claims of bullying on the specific occasion that the physical altercation occurred. Both Harry & Meghan were reported to have been highly abusive to their support staff. I'd imagine any physical altercation must have been proceeded by Harry's abject flippancy towards the multiple claims William had received. Due to this liberal reliance on omission of comprehensive context and evidence, the book 'Spare' should be viewed solely as an opinion piece orchestrated to control the narrative and nothing more. It is LITERALLY quite amazing 'what some people will do for money'.
@roygeorge5364
@roygeorge5364 Жыл бұрын
As an aside, I don't think Amber Heard is a great example. The British courts found that Johnny and Amber had been equally abusive to each other, and she was not found guilty of libel - the American case was louder, so everyone conveniently ignored the British case. I'm not a fan of either Johnny or Amber, but if you read the British case, it's highly obvious, and was proven, that they were both putting their hands on each other - but because British court cases aren't televised, hardly anyone took the time to read about the case. I believe this case will be brought back into the public sphere 30 years down the track, and a very different view will be had. ( We basically harassed, and chose not to believe someone, because their partner was a beloved actor and a powerful man, and she was judged harder for a behaviour they were both found to be doing) anyone who makes a judgement based on just the American case only knows half the case. However everything you have written about Harry and Meghan, I completely agree with. These 2 have been led astray, in the worst fashion ever.
@lumenesque1
@lumenesque1 Жыл бұрын
@@roygeorge5364 If you've ever been in, or witnessed, an abusive relationship it is often the case that the victim will lash out physically when restraint fails after being bullied, belittled and physically attacked time after time after time.... The fact that Johnny responded physically when attacked does not make theirs a mutually abusive relationship. Self-defence really is a thing. And abuse doesn't differentiate whether or not you're famous. What I was referring to when comparing H&M to J&A was the fact that 'recording' each other has become a thing too.

Rebecca is kind, sensitive and generous (and what a pretty dress she had on today). Richard is such a gentle person, erudite and interesting. I loved his attempt at delicacy with some of the topics today; I couldn't stop laughing, but was horrified at the same time. Harry writes like a 13-year old boy. He wants us to feel sorry for him, but the person I feel sorry for is William. He was his mother's confidante at too young an age, watched his parents' divorce and lost his mother too. "Family is everything"? Unless you come from a bad one. Because that is a harsh reality in society - family can be one's worst influence. And since the beginning of time the "good" families have impressed upon their progeny to marry into "good" families. And those unlucky who are born into undesirable families face significant challenges and nobody wants to listen to anyone complain about their family ("taboo"'/shame/guilt) no matter if it is justified. We have so many problems in society and many of those problems can be attributed to bad home influence and upbringing. Ideally, yes family should be "everything" but unfortunately some families don't see it that way, they are toxic, apathetic, destructive, etc. And those suffering from these family dynamics are barraged with the guilt of "family is everything so there must be something wrong with me" and all those perfect family Facebook posts and the holidays which all focus on family, etc. Sometimes the healthiest thing one can do is to distance themselves and not listen to those who tell them to do this or that for the sake of "family" that "is everything"- one is unwise to be a martyr for the sake of family. I have not read Harry's book nor do I intend to so my comments do not relate to him but of family dynamics in general.

I think if harry came back alone then i think the king would get him the help he needs i know he said terrible things about William and Catherine but i think in there heart they still love him but it would take a lot of trust to get back to where they could forgive William tried to stop him i think he knew it would lead to heartbreak for harry

I heard the second volume of his Memoirs describes a sad and unforgettable morning when one of his grandma's corgis ate part of his cereal. He was permanently traumatized, and the Royal Family didn't react.

It seems that Harold doesn’t realize that William lost his mother and was just 2 years older. I suspect given most of their lives Harold was jealous of the future king, who was also taller, very handsome, bright, and found a love when Harold couldn’t. Meanwhile Harold was plain, had what appears to be Rosacea, like Charles does, was shorter, not intelligent, and had a nasty temperament. Harold’s envy was Shakespearean and I think the royal family needs to be very careful, given that Meghan was reported to have said they were one plane crash away from the throne. I don’t believe anything Harold says.
