The g.o.a.t for me and mine. Most preformed music Prince was music. Still a few THOUSAND songs he finished we never heard. Over 300 fully shot videos we never saw.... let that sink in. He was a prodigy and could play any instrument as well as the best on that instrument. Amazing sign o the times was Prince at the top of his game to me

Prince's shows were chaos in the best way possible. It was just nonstop energy and amazing musicianship and showmanship. Im too young to have gone to his shows during these years but I've watched a lot of them on youtube and stuff and it seems exhausting just WATCHING them cuz it's nonstop the whole time. His shows were so crazy

Wonderful reaction, I'm so happy that you love these Prince performances as much as I do. This performance is part of a live show that was released as a movie in 1987 under "Sign of the Times" -- the whole thing is mind blowing. Prince was so lit, I don't know how he performed at that level of intensity while still singing. Sheila Escovedo (aka Sheila E) comes from a family of Latin Jazz drummers based in Oakland, CA. She is really talented, I love her.

Worth watching this whole concert -it's incredible, the Greatest showman ever and with some great camera work and editing that puts it above most concern films. You can also see him doing the drum swap earlier in "85 with the live video for AMerica, which is also stomping - he plays guitar and rums, dances and sings... he did it all. No one like him before or since - the musical unicorn.

Prince was amazing. That was Shelia E… she was also amazing. Such high energy I had to laugh when you commented on Princes outfit. Honestly quite a few girls emulated how artists dressed. This wasn’t that outrageous for the time. I can 100% remember wearing spandex, denim jacket , tennis shoes, scrunched up socks and topped it off with a funky hat. Wore that shit to school and to the mall. While most guys didn’t dress this way we girls certainly took style ques from the Rock and Pop legends and Prince is one of those legends 💜

I saw the man 17 times in my life. First time was Purple Rain Tour in 1985. I was 15 and the last time was in 2016, a month and a half before his death….i was 46 years old. Nothing but love for that talent. The drummer is Sheila E. She’s the most celebrated female drummer on the planet. Check out her and Prince doing Love Bizarre at The Warfield in 1986 in SF.

It was always a mind blowing, extraordinary, soul touching experience to go to a Prince concert. I love the man’s music but seeing him live never disappointed! I hope you find a way to get Purple Rain up, but truly there are so many to choose from…I saw him 3 incredible times and each time he played Purple Rain last, it was insane! There’s nothing better than when he lets loose and plays that song for 15-20 minutes…it’s soul touching for sure!!! 💜☔️

P was the greatest I watch SOTT on VHS back in the day till I wore the tape out! The reason why his performance’s were sooo good it he would rehearse the band solid for 6 months doing 10-12 hour days going over snd over the set, just listen a the peach and black podcast with his base player Levi and he said nothing was left out he absolutely rinsed ever ounce for his band, Levi said after a concert they would be mentally shattered because he would change things on a it second during a song and he gave different signal to let the band know we going do this shit now, and they had to remember all the cues in a split second, incredible 💜

Because he could play all the instruments in the band he expected his band members to be better than him, which many band members said that they couldn’t. This pushed them more than anything to play better than they thought they could. Prince was such a great leader that he got the best out of his bands.

I'm so happy that the younger people are coming to find out about a real musician. The drummer is Sheila E. and is from Oakland, CA like me. We are so proud of her. She played drums in high heels - as did Prince and dance, and play guitar, and run around the stage. This clip came from a move called, "Sign O' the Times" here in the US - he never toured in the US except for one time at Paisley Park - he did capture most from a concert in Holland and then other shots from Paisley Park in Minn. The man broke the mold. :) This version is much more faster than the studio version from Sign O' the Times - I think it's much better. And Peace and Positivity! Enjoy the Journey .... PS- loved your leg kicks - you were feeling the spirit that is Prince.

If you want to see Prince and Mayte do something fantastic, see Soul Train, May 1994! The song, “The Most Beautiful Girl in the World” was preform by Prince and Mayte. Prince made 3 very different renditions of this song. However the most soulful heartfelt rendition was performed on Soul Train! It was never made available to the public. However from time to time it comes up on KZbin. He performed other songs as well. The entire show was all Prince, Mayte and the band. Don’t miss out!

It's always on Roku somewhere free. Next you need to react to Prince's Play That Funky Music. He plays guitar and BASS. This came out in 1987. By the way it's gonna be hard to bypass getting the Purple Rain concert thru. The estate is releasing that concert from Syracuse NY the most famous one on June 3rd. As a performer he gave us too much of himself. He had a hip that had been smashed with a fall on stage due to spilt oil, fractures in his spine, fingers with arthritis from playing instruments, feet and ankle issues all causing him to rely on pain killers so he could keep performing. He was nearly 60 and started practising from the age of 7. Practising meant every waking hour. Imagine the brain power needed to organise tours, run his business, rehearse his band, write, sing and teach his band his music as he didn’t read and write sheet music. The list is endless. He was such a perfectionist he even organised lighting, stage, design all costumes …. I am exhausted thinking about it. He was magic and we will never see it again. He did employ many people to help but he organised everything for them to carry out. To round it all out, he was so handsome and sexual.

Here s another prince concert you ll appreciate: prince Love Sexy 1988 germany, another high energy show, same band. He had them learn this material for the sign o the times tour in 1987 but didnt use it til 1988. Basically they would learn the whole show, then he d come in and start over w new material.
