MJ as great of a musician and artist he was, he is the greatest example of a self hater. He hated his black skin. I love his music, but he is the total opposite of a proud black man. He may be the 🐐, but in my personal favorites he ranks far below Marvin Gaye, Bob Marley, Prince and Tupac…

@SBoy-ks6wt He did NOT hate his skin. He’s on record saying he wished he could control his skin disease and was proud of his blackness. In fact, even in the late 80s he has brown make up covering his white skin, before it became too extensive to maintain.

I love how Prince respectfully addressed the ‘changing skin color’ comment. Instead of getting upset at the hosts, he found a way to tie in their impressions with the factual evidence that vitiligo was indeed found in his autopsy reports. His patience, maturity and kindness is admirable. Michael would be so proud. ❤ We love you Prince.

It’s true, he always made lemonade out of the lemons life gave him. When he got the burns scar on his head, he made long hair & Fedora into a fashion statement even though it was to cover his scar. Same thing with makeup & glove.. which were to cover vitiligo. The mask protected him from respiratory illnesses on tour but it also added to his mystique. Everything had a practical purpose that he turned into a style statement. He used his super pale skin to create an otherworldly glow from the light reflecting off it on stage or photographs.

You're misinterpreting what he's saying. He didnt say you guys are all grimey. He's saying that the ones he met in jail were usually grimier than the others which could be true. Also, keep in mind this was back in the early 90s not 2023.

No low-key, I was in the other room and when he started laughing I was finally convinced about him. I high key always thought the other two were biological but I was on the fence with him until I heard the laugh. I immediately started smiling. I wasn’t even in the room but that laugh made me stop what I was doing :)

I'll always respect him for this.
