I think Prince Joachim married too young - he was only 26 years old. He wasn't mature enough to deal with marriage and children while still in his early thirties.

That is because her father is 1/2 English and 1/2 Chinese. Her mother tongues are actually English and German because her mother is Czec/Austrian. She may have grown up in Hong Kong but judging from what she has admitted that she only speaks a little Cantonese, the local dialect in Hong Kong, she is not really an average Hong Kong Chinese.

Prince Henrik lived in Hanoi for some time as a child and he studied in Hong Kong and Saigon :)

She went to international schools in Hong Kong and she spoke English at home. Also she could get around in HK speaking English. She knows very little Chinese.

Hong Kong was ruled by the British for a long time. A lot of people in Hong Kong speak English, especially the elites and the educated class.
