Same here, grew up in MN, I’m 1982 I was in 7th grade, I was obsessed with the Controversy record, & 1999 & for some reasoning was NOT “Cool” to be into Prince back then, even in MN. Dumb guys would call him “gay” which is mind boggling (not that there’s anything wrong with that) . Now all these years later his music really is still relevant for the times. My favorite is the one that opens the "One Nite Alone... The Aftershow: It Ain't Over!" ("Up Late with Prince and the NPG") record. It's a lot different than this one, with a small-blues-club vibe and a lot more lead guitar stuff. And Larry Graham from Sly & The Family Stone plays on it, which is fun. But all the versions of this song are so great and so different; thanks for sharing this one! There's also a piano-only version available from his very last tour in 2016, too.

My GOD I can just imagine Prince and Amy Winehouse doing a duet with of this song!! For those who don't know - I just found out myself - that Prince asked Amy to perform live with him. The only live footage or audio I can find is of Prince playing guitar and piano while Amy sings "Love Is A Losing Game". One of the most gorgeous songs ever by two of my all time favorite artists.

Both P & A just felt so deep they had to numb physical & mental pain. Tragic losing them both. But losing Prince has been a truly painful experience and I'm still trying to get my head around it. This is taken from those "Nokia" (or something) performances, right? The surrounding sound of keys is truly incredible. Why, oh why these things are never released? I have heard literally hundreds of INCREDIBLE versions of different songs, jams, soundchecks and rehearsals, all of them being of much better artistical quality than the official releases... till this day i do not get why all those gems are hidden...
