I was at this concert with my then wife who was pregnant with twins, of which only one survived, this show was aired on PPV New Years Eve but the performance was given 12/19/1999 they had super cool tickets and I still have the purple anodized metal tickets, #319 and #320! My daughter Paislee was born on 01/17/2000 and fortunately I was able to take her to one of the Celebrations when she was 4 years old where she met Prince. She does not really recall it but still cool that I can tell her that he talked to her. My wife could only handle about half of the show because she was just a bit too pregnant to be up that late but we were both in the atrium at Paisley Park before the show started and Lenny Kravitz stepped over the footrest of my wheelchair and asked me if I knew where Prince was! This was a very special night. Fast forward 16 years and October 2015 Madonna and about 15 of her dancers came out to Paisley for a late night performance and she sat literally about 6 inches away from me. I did everything I could not to bump into her she was so close, she was crawling up on stage asking Prince to play "Love Song". Another incredible night where I was less than 3-4 feet from two of the world's most iconic musicians! Really good times which I miss tremendously, I cannot believe how often I still think about P being gone and he won't come walking by me and saying hi in the sound stage at Paisley as he did the very last time I saw him. I am so grateful I have that special last memory of someone very famous that I came to know somewhat personally from 1987 New Year's Eve until 2016. He was a super nice cool dude, Prince was kind enough to let me attend very private events like watching the video of that evenings performance with just the band and him till 6 a.m. and numerous other get togethers where it was very normal and not a big party.
