On the one hand he is arguing that the EFF should be shunned upon because of a lack of experience in governing a country. The DA, IFP and Action SA also don't have any experience of governing a country. You are probably chumping at the bits to say that the DA and IFP have governed successfully in the WC and KZN respectively which would be a false comparison but let's go along with it just for argument sake. At the core of it the IFP is a regional Zulu nationalist party which was rejected by the people of KZN who found solace in the Zuma (Zulu) led ANC. On the other hand the DA isn't really interested in governing South Africa in its entirety. There may have been a point where this was the overarching ambition but that idea was done away with along with the demise of the one they call Musi Maimane. All the DA wants now is to consolidate the Western Cape with the long term view of the Western Cape ultimately exiting South Africa and governing itself as the last bastion of racism in South Africa. If Prince Mashele and the rest of the so called analysts for that matter had any sort of free thinking in their bones this would be brought to the fore more succinctly.

Poor poor analysis by Mashele. 1stly, the Malema speech was not a Manifesto launch, but a speech detailing how far the EFF has come over the last 10 years and what the near future's holistic agenda is particularly for the next 5-10 years. You CANNOT honestly have expected him for example to then detail how, step by step, EFF intend to eradicate poverty in a 1 hour speech. The can be found IN A MANIFESTO document!! 2ndly, VBS Story is now a very tired recycled narrative. Not even 1 EFF leader has been charged with regards to it. EFF are not in charge of the state apparatus and surely if there was something wrong done by them then surely people would have been charged with regards to that matter. 3rdly, Experience narrative is poor analysis in that that excuse can be used for any party other than the ANC because they have been the only governing party since 1994. And, come end, their term of service, either the good or the damage of their leadership may not even be visible yet. However, anywhere you look, the resultant state of the nation, be it prosperous or struggling, seems to be more reflective of the people driving it. Obviously, as politicians don't do any of the work, therefore they cannot be responsible for or make claim to any achievement/s. Does a nation exist or would a President have a job without people? So why are politicians making so much claim to progress? In SA we can ask, what is a President? In the national context, they have become more meaningless daily. To show either individually or collectively for themselves, apart from economical decline and infrastructural deterioration, there is nothing. So, if they don't hold the nation together or make any positive contribution, then who does? Of course, it can only be the people. When you realise this, then you realise that the politicians in SA, have only been running circles around you and wasting your life. They've managed to create divisions between the people for the good of their political parties only. Yes, they're there only for their careers. We call them career politicians. The ANC is a public sector company run entirely by career politicians, who are entirely dedicated to their own careers. They protect themselves against you and their responsibilities to the nation by cadres. You are a nothing to them, all you represent is a vote every 4 years, that's all. Had they been a private sector political company, they would have gone out of business decades ago, simply because they don't have the competive skills. What does this say about the general mentality of the nation and their understanding of politics?. Many things but I'll say this, for one thing, it's the people who are shooting themselves in the foot. South Africans have a totally blurred vision about the usefullness of a politician and a similarly totally low self esteem about their own capabilities. South Africans think that without a politician, they are doomed. South Africans have been totally programmed and brainwashed by politicians to believe that they can't progress without them. They have become so obsessed by politics and politicians, that they have no life outside of political debate. After all, isn't this at least one of the reasons you posted your comment? So why do we waste our time indulging in politics and the disasters created by politicians, if not because they have impact heavily on our lives. Is it not maybe because we have had enough? Good interview. I disagree with Prince regarding parties having to push their own agendas and thinking about coalitions after the election. Proportional representation is designed for coalition government. A dominant party like the ANC is not usual or healthy. South Africans and 1/3 of ANC supporters need to see that a coalition government will be better than the current situation. South Africa is entering a new and more mature period in its democracy and people are sceptical, it's something new that few understand or are comfortable with. In Europe, a coalition government are formed over months after elections. This is not the case in South Africa. South Africans need to accept that a coalition government will be formed, they are simply voting for how much say their party will have but they need to know that the coalition will be STABLE otherwise people will likely not vote at all.
