Herman Sechaba is absolutely right about the luxurious lives in the prisons with all the perks at the expense of hardworking Citizens who try to avoid getting into trouble with the law. With the present evil lawmakers here in South Africa innocent victims are not safe at all as it is evident that the "mafia" state protects criminals. We drive multiple times a year though Beaufort West between Cape Town and Joburg. I used to say to my husband - Beaufort West is the worst town I've ever come across in my life. Filthy with terrible weather - even the animals look starving and depressed. This year I stayed over initially one night (warning my friend ahead we are staying in the worst town in SA) and 3 nights on the way back because my car broke down and we had to wait for repair. Boy has this this town turned around. It was spotless, the people are excited and local business is starting to take off. I'm blown away by Gayton Mckenzie and wish him every success. When Herman Mashaba left the DA I decided I was going to follow him with my vote - and here in Joburg I'm a big ActionSA supporter because of Herman's track record as mayor. But PA is my 2nd choice.

About the foreigner issue, has anybody tried to think about the amount of money that get sent out of this country into Africa. From Shoprite, Checkers, P&P it is sent counter to counter and with a 10% handling fee. Not only do they get most things for free in South Africa and contribute very little to the economy, they are depriving us of millions of rands. I believe there are even a some foreign banks.

I must disagree with you Jaques. My experience with Black Foreign nationals from Zimbabwe, Congo and Malawi etc has been nothing but positive. They are hardworking, reliable and contribute significantly to the economy. Every problem in this country is created by South Africans, especially the political. 1) Gayton spent millions building toilets that failed to function for a month. He refused to go through the right channels and a person who lacks the understanding of why vetting is import will do the same when he runs government. He was rushing to have something to show @100 days and if you visit his Facebook page you'll see why. 2) Companies especially the small to medium enterprise business are the ones hiring foreign nationals because they get better quality of work and accountability. Zimbabweans earn more money because they save you money. In construction / development industry the profit margins are dependent on speed, quality of the job and quantity output wise. Brick Layers are given daily targets and optional overtime so wages are calculated based on productivity not attendance. Any normal human being knows that if you have a business especially startups that have higher odds of failure you have limited choice. If 1 Zimbabwean guy gets employed in a team of 50 by end of year there may be 30 to 40 of them because it's contract work and gone are the days where companies will hire 50 workers for projects and have them on permanent contracts, it's not financially viable even when the business needs financial credit the high salary bill is a deterrent.

Two things: a) I never thought I would ever lend my ear to Gayton but I watched this entire video. b) I share a lot of his beliefs/values. I actually wrote to John Steenhuisen at one time and told him that as long as Zille is in a position of power in the DA they will never receive my vote. This was after she returned to DA from IRR. That is a promise I have kept.

Yes, especially since he accepted Bonginkosi Khanyile into the party. That's the student leader arrested for and charged with public violence.
