Zimbabweans have the land but still come to South Africa in their millions. I’m white my family left rural KZN , no one wants to live in a rural area unless you’re retired. Farming is hard and a risky business. Farmers rarely own their land outright… the banks do, because that’s how they fund their farms. No capital to way to pay workers, buy seed and stock as well as very expensive equipment. Then after all that you can have a bad year or another and then you’re gone. Who wants that?

The main problem is quality of education for black children. Then undermined private property rights, when socialist ANC government doesn’t give title deeds to poor black property owners and doesn’t educate them to use their properties as collateral for business or study loans. White people are forced to start their own businesses as government jobs available mainly for black people (racial quotas). ANC prints more and more race based regulations for businesses to force racial quotas there too. ANC is not interested in empowering black people, so they can create wealth for themselves.

truth of the matter is that EFF and affiliates don't want South Africans to have a 'better' life. If the land gets distributed among all then dire poverty will set in...However, such poverty will benefit the EFF who recently set a fine example on how to benefit from poor people by scamming them of their life savings (VBS bank scandal). So why don't South Africans have a better life? Basic Education and educational tools are lacking. From good education comes dignity. Dignity is what the white Afrikaner stripped non-white South Africans of. That needs to be restored. Dignity does not come from owning land.

Mashele is speaking the truth. Not all white people own land, many working whites are suffering and can't even feed themselves. As for farming, one of the largest citrus farms was taken from a whites and given to blacks. Today that farm produces NOTHING and is destroyed. Farming is one of the most difficult jobs. We must stop this color issue. We need the farmers regardless of color to farm. Without farmers no one will eat. Learn what happened in Zimbabwe, they own the land but they beg for food to feed the people. We must stop looking at the past. The ANC has ruled over SA for 30 years. We need unity , everyone wants a better live. Everyone must own a small piece of land to build a house , have a job and enjoy a better life. Stop with color politics. We have poor Blacks, Whites and etc. We have rich Blacks, whites and etc. In many ways we are all suffering. By keeping us divided we aren't focused on building up the country.

What a fallacious argument by Prince. Just because black people don't live in the land, doesn't mean they don't want the land. That is pathetic reasoning. Basic economics teaches us that there 4 factors of production: capital, entrepreneurship, land and labour. Black people currently only own labour. They lack capital to develop land hence have to trade their labour for capital to develop land. To just assume that they don't want a whole factor of production is akin to assuming they want to remain poor. That is simply incorrect. Once developed, land as a factor of production can also earn rent. Passive income. Since YOU don't want land Prince, please opt-out of recieving land when land redistribution happens. I will gladly take your land!

The sad thing is that all my friends had to leave South Africa just to make a living and many of them are black South Africans. As for me, I have worked very hard for my entire life to build skills and experience, yet now nobody is even looking at my CV because I am white. Even starting a business has become very difficult as a result of BEE legislation. The fact of the matter is that the South Africans, irrespective of colour, are tired of politics. We just want to focus on building the South African economy for the benefit of all, but the politicians always have to divide us for the sake of political gain. If we all took hands and worked towards a better future for all, I guarantee you we would have been a significant competitive global economy with 90% of South Africans employed. This was achieved in many other countries in 30 years and now we are 30 years behind, purely based on divisive politics. When everybody is employed and people have the option of doing what they love and have talent for, nobody will ask questions around the lines of colour, because the most talented people will be at the top, irrespective of colour!

Prince, to some extent is correct. The truth behind black people leaving rural areas is due to failures of the ANC government to support people in rural areas to become small scale farmers or assist them to establish some other small industries, and there are quite a number of them, that can trive in rural areas, and hence people flee to towns and cities. The government, through motivation, assistance, and other forms of technical support, can reverse this negative trend, and people can start to see the value of working the land for their own benefit. Working and tilling the land is not something new and difficult in black communities, our forefathers worked the land successfully until this 'job seeking mentality' started to sink in people's minds.

Take the Western Cape, urban leafy land are owned by whites (foreigners as well) whilst non-whites live in concentration camps.. Total poverty.. The best of Western Cape to this day are enjoyed and afforded by whites whilst municipalities in the Western Cape handout house deeds to non whites.. These handouts these municipalities celebrate as a win while these ill advised non-white have no idea that dilapidated houses they now “own” is their responsibility to fix.. Removal of asbestos roofs (specialist job), of these homes, poorly constructed homes.. These are what these municipalities regard as distribution of land..

Let prince give the % of those many black people who don't want land. People who have land and go to work in towns are not stupid. In my young age there small scale farming was prevelant but nowadays there is serious drought that pushes people to work. Owning land should not be discriminatory as it spells freedom. Your children may be the ones who would come up with ideas to use the land but not when you don't have it. Substinance farming is not the future but commercial farming. Here is the solution, give people land, give them skills and equipment and fund them because with drought it will fail but funding will help with boreholes and other innovations.

Give, give, give? Africans have a fantastic system called stokvels. They could provide debt free capital to buy farms, equipment, seed and gain the necessary skills. The investors provide the labourers from their own ranks. They create their own educational institutions in the language they chose, including schools.. The stokvels pay dividends in food and cash. They grow by reinvesting into processing plants, factories, transport companies. They progress to becoming leaders and develop into politians who understand HOW to grow a nation into prosperity.

This Prince guy is talking nonsense!! Firstly, his a Shangane so he says.. then he mustn't say black people don't want land, because his the one who left his home to come to South Africa! He must not make his experiences ours. Some of us are from here, and we want our land not better jobs. And when we speak of land, we're not only talking farming, we also talk of the intestines of the land, our minerals resources too. In South Africa the land is in the hands of white's, all the municipalities are under the British and dutch laws. So, even if you're from Mpumalanga or any other province for that matter, there's nothing you can do to the land because the land belongs to municipalities. Prince is talking out of his ass. Just because his afraid of white people, he must never think we all are.

@annalexander7722 it doesn't matter it's our land. We don't take land in Europe or America but European companies are taking so much from our land here.

BUT NIGERIANS MUST KNOW THAT WE HAVE MASSIVE LAND IN THE RURAL AREARS/VILLAGES BUT WE LEFT THAT LAND AND COME TO URBAN AREAS .EVEN THE TOWNSHIPS YARDS ARE NOT USED FOR GROWING VEGETABLES ,INSTEAD WE PAVED OUR YARDS WITH CONCRETE CEMENT RIGHT AROUND .MALEMA AND ANDILE MUST GO TO ANGER REHABILITATION .
@teem73033 күн бұрын
On top of paving the yard, some make shacks in the same yard to rent out because it's a side hustle. All I see are shacks being erected where there used to be land. People are urbanised and majority aren't interested in farming the land.

So you're trying to refute history by attempting to paint a non-existent picture that prior 1652, the tribes who lived in SA lived in harmony and didn't conquer each other to increase the size of their kingdoms? Get real.... 🤨 If you don't know your facts, rather do research and educate yourself before exposing your folly to the world.

Theres no delight or riches in being a small time farmer. If 1% make it to become medium oŕ mega farmers it will be a miracle. The local + international competition iro food production is rife. The powers that be established the brand new state bank. Why? They want to live from it, like they did from vbs. So who will fund it? Small farmers who never get out of debt. The landbank established according to a law is an obstacle + will be demolished as an obsolete aparthd relic. What makes or breaks a farmer? Not seasons with plenty of rain, but how well they survive nature, like the dry + scorching sun with El Nino calling no-rain shots. Witĥout lots of water + expensive irrigàtion systems even cabbage will perish.
