Naseem Hamed = Best Ever Featherweight No doubt about it he speaks the truth and their was nothing fake about him. He was as real as you can get. He proved it throught out his career. I only wish I was around to live in his era. He is the reason I box now and I bring his mindset in while I train. Im not saying he wasnt one of a kind, but I feel him and only wish I started earlier. Allah Akbar

haha well said bro.. a lot of people thinking the same thing he didn't train hard.. for example for the Barrera fight he was living in that mansion in Palm Springs while Barrera was just training at a everyday simple gym... u can watch it on youtube too Little Man Big Fight or something like that... he might have been bored from winning so easily it's hard to say his mentality later on in his career...

can't believe he just "gave up" after the barrera fight. Say what you want, this guy could punch and was something special. Such a shame he walked away.

Well i think that Prince without doubt is the best in that weight category. To lose in any game is a norm and it's not the end of anything. I m sure that if he was given a chance he'd easly beat Barrera. He was very rusty in that match. Hasta Luego Prince

was this before or after his fight with barrera?
@TheMrpalid14 жыл бұрын
all the haters spend time bashing hamed, because he was arrogant or he was muslim, but the fact of the matter is the man put up a fight and put on a show. Just look at boxing today, MMA has pretty much shut it down, Naseem was amazing for the sport of boxing and he will be missed

While nas was beaten fair and square by barrera. There is no hiding the fact that outside issuses were affecting nas at the time. He had new trainers, which never got on. His brother took over his management, which was a joke, supposedly he was allowed to train whenever he wanted. Finally, i think his passion for the sport had gone. Nas in his early twenties was one of the best featherweights ever. Im not knocking barrera, he's one of my fave boxers along with hamed!!!

@carmodifire I see... I think at the best of both Barrera and the Prince, there would be a narrow split decision and Barrera would just win. Barrera was just extremely fast. Although Prince Naz was really fast as well, he wasn't as speedy as Barrera but had more power. They are both legendary fighters though, worthy of recognition.

If Prince would have been more dedicated to his boxing, he would have beaten Barrera IMO. I think he would have beaten Morales too. Such a shame because he was truly a top talent. Just lacked the overall commitment to the game.

my favorite boxer of all time is mike tyson and i think tht hamed was a good fighter but not good enough to be in the hall of fame but thts just my opinion others may disagree

naz wasa great and world class he just got bored towards end of his carreer, and he could of beat barrera if he had trained harder but he never and thats that, you have to admit aswell naz had one hell of a chin, barrera may have won but he never knocked him down!
@truebeliever78613 жыл бұрын
@carmodifire I see what you mean. When it comes to slugging, Naz beats almost anyone, cause he's a natural slugger with his immense power, but when it comes to boxing, Barrera beat him. I think it'd be a narrower SD. I'm going to stick with that, but I still pick Barrera as the winner... Yeah, Naz made Barrera really famous with that fight, just like Iron Mike Tyson made Buster Douglas really famous and Sonny Liston made Muhammad Ali really famous.

@truebeliever78613 жыл бұрын
@mcjep Actually you're wrong, he said himself that he trained extremely hard for the Barrera fight. The fact is that Barrera was a better fighter than Naz, even though Naz was great, cause he was in a whole different league, but I still give 100% credit to Naz for having the heart and chin and never being knocked down by him.
@carmodifire13 жыл бұрын
@truebeliever786 No, he never said that. They showed in a documentary the days leading up to the fight and Naseem was just playing around. He says that Barerra and Morales didn't want to fight him, even though he offered to.

Weird delayed reaction by Sanchez. He was conscious for a while but then slipped into la la land.
@carmodifire13 жыл бұрын
@truebeliever786 I think that this fight shows Barerra at his best. He changed his brawling style to pure boxing. Otherwise, Naz's power would be too much. I heard that Steward said his power, p4p, was more than Hearns. Since he lost by 3, He would probably win. But, we can never tell.
@truebeliever78613 жыл бұрын
@umyafzal If only he continued and didn't retire after that. That was very foolish of him. I don't judge him for that one fight, because the rest of his career was pure class and perfection. But I do judge him for quitting after the fight. He shouldn't have done that. If he had an off-night or something, he should've come back and fought Morales or asked for a rematch. I think Barrera was the better fighter though. Its no shame losing to a fighter as great as Barrera though...
@truebeliever78613 жыл бұрын
@carmodifire Yeah, but Naz did say he trained really hard for the fight. Type up: 'Little Prince, Big Fight', a documentary in which Naz says he was in his best condition in that fight. No doubt, Naz was a great fighter who fought the champions and top contenders in his prime (i.e. age 21-25), like Steve Robinson and Daniel Alicea and he knocked them out cold. But I think Barrera had a style that was perfect against that of Naz's, especially in Naz's later career, since he was slower then.

did Augie Sanchez died after that fight??
@carmodifire13 жыл бұрын
@truebeliever786 In the fight, Barerra said that Naz's punching wasn't really that hard. I think that was because he had injections in his hands; Naz said that he couldn't feel if his hands were in fists or not. Also, he couldn't even do the flip on the rope.
@carmodifire13 жыл бұрын
@truebeliever786 Maybe 5 minutes was a lot for him? Haha. I don't know, I didn't see that part. But when Naz was with Ingle, I think Barerra would be no problem, because Naz lost only be 3 pts. and had a lot of things against him: trainer changed his style, hand pains (that's why he didn't do the top rope flip), no discipline, etc. did a Tyson, looks like
