I was raised on Michael Jackson as well, but I saw Prince's Purple Rain video as a child and Prince won me over. Later on I found out the real reason my mother never mentioned Prince in our home. Well when she was 17 she went to a Rick James concert. Prince was the opening act. Prince came on stage with nothing on but purple bikini underwear and a trench coat. My mother looks at me funny sometimes when I mention Prince, but what can I say, he is very talented, and sometimes you love who you love.

I highly recommend that you view some more videos of prince. There weren’t that many songs with the booty cheeks, and that was a very short phase in his career. And I don’t think it’s any different than the Cardi B‘s, and the Megan Thee Stallion‘s of today who constantly use their body for “shock value and validity as artist in which I think is really the same because they’re both very good in their craft. Whatever prints did, he had a message and a purpose for every song he did, and I’m saying this from personal knowledge thank you for reviewing this song brings back fond memories of when he shot the video I see a couple of my friends in the video, the last woman in the vignette, the older woman, was named Dr. Marva Collins. She was a special Ed teacher from Chicago who had an amazing program for young kids, prince donated a lot of money to her school and you should Google her to.

This was a great reaction. Prince was a musical genius, he wrote all his own songs, played more then 27 instruments and managed his entire career. Prince did not do anything to get attention btw, his genius spoke for itself. He was a deeply spiritual individual and his view on sexuality was that of a spiritual union between man and woman, hence he was not constrained by political correctness and society norms. Despite what anyone might think, Prince was 100% a gentleman to his core and never had a single misconduct allegation in the course of his life. He was a very open man, who expressed his views about politics, music and sexuality freely and could care less if someone thought it was controversial or not. Besides, compared to anything these days he was very tame.

@7:09 Sadly when it comes to PRINCE ROGERS NELSON he wasn't known for going around showing his BOOTY CHEEKS by your interpretation regarding public perception. When he performed "Get Off" at the MTV awards it was a national way of interpreting the narrative of the song. When he performed the "Dirty Mind" album he equally wanted to bring the visual effects of his character to Life in Dirty Mind. In the 70's there was a character who identify with a certain type of behavioral aspects of which the attire was a TRENCHCOAT with nothing under it. It was called a "FLASHER" perverted and RAW sexual orientation SEVERing of their own personal DEMONS. This is why he gave the VISUAL along with the MUSIC. Not just a shock value person who wanted attention. He always been a bringing his artistry to LIFE on the stage setting.

He didn't show his cheeks. It was flesh-toned fabric. Prince was a Master at getting the reaction he wanted. His designers said he told them to come up with something & they went to his office, showed him 2 sketches, the one we saw & the other showed more leg. He took a marker & crossed out the other one & they took a guess at what color his rear would be since they never saw it & they had to find the perfect color to dye the fabric for the gold color.
