I was 26 when I onlined edited this video back in 96. Prince came in to master the intro edit with like 10 people. I happened to be standing in the hallway in front of my edit suite as he rolled in, just dripping with cool. Crushed purple velvet, cane, hair perfect. He walks up to me and I casually threw my hand up like I knew the guy & said what we doing today? No hesitation, he grabs my hand kinda smirks & says something like its easy, just the intro. Its been years, but I still remember how stoked I was to be doing this. I couldnt believe what he did during the 45 minute online session. One of the most amazing artists to have ever lived.

Yes, over the years prince wrote of of his best songs when he was in a serious relationship. And that includes his breakup songs. As for him and Mayte, I think he was genuinely happy during those years, until the loss of their child destroyed thing. Don't care who he was with later and who he might have married. ShelbyJ acknowledge that as she got closer to Prince and more personal, he told her that "Mayte was the love of his life". He also said, there were other women that said they were my soulmate but I never felt like that until I met Mayte." Obviously you dont like Mayte but, there is no other woman that ever can take her place. Of course, it has been tried but that too failed. If Amiir had survived, they would still be together because he wanted a lot of children. Sadly, that wasnt to happen for him and he couldnt accept that, it was very difficult for him. He couldnt go back to Mayte because of the pain that they went through in his life. He never got over Amiir and losing him. Of course, he tried but that too failed...he walked away from his best friend, soulmate, lover, the only person that trusted him, and loved him completely. Sometimes we are all our worst enemy and in this case it was Prince.

And then she probably was lying to that woman so she could use her for photo ops or what have you for her upcoming album that she released upon Prince's passing. Almost everybody's making money off this man, especially Mayte. And so what if he really did tell Shelby J all of that? And let's just say that Mayte believed her? And I really don't think she feels guilty about it. She knows how much his privacy meant to him and she doesn't care. Not to mention, selling T-Shirts with his symbol on them at her belly dancing classes, using his music during her classes without regard or respect for him or his music, and so on. This woman is not decent and has no regard or respect for Prince at all. She didn't respect him in life. That's why he got rid of her. She tried to auction off his clothes and other items of his back in 2014 and had a yard sale. Then she tried auctioning off his clothes/items in March of 2016, a month before he passed, and he tried to get his things back from her, but she refused. She tried to release the book when he was alive and he shut it down. And she's been exploiting the death of their son for years with interviews, a reality show, and now a disgusting book. Then I read that she sold pics of their dying son to a tabloid(s) overseas. That's just despicable. If she really loved him or respected that he really loved her, then she would show decency and respect for him, especially now that he is deceased. RIP, Prince.

Mayte was the only one that he could trust, unfortunately, he found that out too late. Of course the song "I Love You But I dont Trust you anymore", was what Mayte said to him, not what he said to Mayte. The verses in that song were things she said to him. It is known that Prince fired a lot of people, that isnt a secret. ShelbyJ is honest enough to not to have said anything about him that wasnt true. I dont blame Prince entirely for being like he was, not trusting anybody. He had a traumatic childhood which he never got over. It had a lot to do with his reaction to people and yes, over the years he has been used and tried to protect what was his: I dont blame it for that. ShelbyJ was with him for many years and he did promote her music. It is also known that he let musicians, band members, etc. go after a few years and replaced them. ShelbyJ didnt need Mayte to promote her albums, she is known in her own rights. She didnt even meet Mayte until the BET tribute...but she knew of Mayte from Prince. Say whatever, you like. I will put it this way as Prince said, "I got me a Puerto Rican, and y'all just jealous because you dont have me. F--- you, kiss my a---." It's unfortunately that Mayte and Prince broke up, as with Prince when things dont go his way, he walks away. That moment in his life was right there, right before him, it would have made a huge different in his life, right there but he missed it. He couldnt handle that because he couldnt control the loss of his children and he felt that God had abandoned him...but he didnt realize that, right there was God. Instead of turning to God he turned to the "other woman"...bad decision...that too failed...you are not a Mayte's fan..for some reason you dont like her...sorry that's your problem, not mine...whatever, Mayte and Prince's journey was one of love and at least we can be happy that he experience it. He never stopped loving her, nor did he stop talking to her. He did for a time when he lost the last baby...but they did communicate later on. I will no longer respond to your thread...it's obvious that you dont like her...I am glad she had 11 years of her life with Prince and the love they shared. I have to admit, it was a beautiful journey and I am glad that she wrote her book, I hope he heals some of the pain she went through but, as she said, "I made myself forget a lot of traumatic things". Damn, she been through something...the tours that she is doing now, she did while she was married to Prince, they were a couple, and touring is part of her life. She toured before she met him and she continue to do so today. It's a healing journey for her and I admire her for getting out there. That's one thing that she and Prince had in common, they were both entertainers...and this is what they did.....not only that, she was once a member of a ballet company in Germany...she is also talented...and beautiful inside and out...nothing phony about her...none of us is perfect...

I guess you could say that Prince really did Nona a favor by breaking up with her. Cuz she's been successful and Mayte has not been. And Nona is still welcomed at Paisley Park and Mayte is not. And honey, that song, I Love You But I Don't Trust You Anymore? You really think and had the audacity to type that it was really what Mayte was saying to Prince? Baaaaaahhhhhhhhhaaaaaaaaaaaaa! You have got to be kidding me?! How old are you? 12? You can't be serious! And Shelby J is not a star in her own right. She ain't shit just like Mayte. And any kind of fame she has comes from her being apart of Prince's band, just like Mayte's ol' sorry ass. You can write as many books as you please, just like Mayte, to try to convince me that he still loved her. It will not work. My eyes are open. And yeah, Mayte cheated on Prince with that Spanish Flamenco dancer, Joaquin Cortes. And you know it. She's been keeping in touch with him over the years. NOT Prince! She's been stalking Prince. And she and her nasty, racist "manager" Dave, threatened Prince back in the 2000s with physical violence, and Prince called the FBI. And Prince did try to stop her from auctioning off his clothes and other items just a month before he died. But if you want to count all of that as them "still talking" then you go right ahead. And no, I don't like Mayte Garcia, and I'll admit, that is my problem. But you have an even bigger problem. You worship this bitch and believe everything she says. You got it worse than me, babes. Never heard this song or video but I am loving it. I like seeing Mayte and Prince perform together, it shows he IS human, can and did fall in love, no matter the outcome, he DID love her at some point. A lot of people say that she is telling lies and using their relationship to make money, but there are always two sides to every story and I'm sure her life with Prince was not a picnic at times. He is obviously a perfectionist in everything he did and also comes off as a bit controlling. But I still love and miss him very much. 💜
