So so chuffed I dropped everything job, partner and all to go and nurse my Mum in her last year - would not trade that time for anything. Mum's are truly special and when they are not here there's a huge hole.

I have never Loved a song as much as this one, most especially when I did not understand the language. I have tried my best to loose my Scottish accent and sing in Maori! Much love and recpect to Prince Tui Teka and the people of New Zealand

I am writing this message from a hotel in The Anzac National Park. It has been a very emotional few days and these songs are a lovely way to end our stay here. I think the wairua of our brave Maori and Pakeha soldiers loved these songs tonight as I played them. Tears have flowed.....rest in peace to the NZ soldiers who are buried here and of course to the wonderful Prince and his Princess :).

I met Missy and the band in Invercargill in the 80s, they stayed at my Uncle Charlies place whilst on tour. I saw him play the soundshell at riverton but I was too young by the time he died, I loved how they treated her, rightly so, as royally. RIP both of you. This recording was made as part of a one-hour television special broadcast on TV-2 some weeks later. The audio was post-mixed from 16-track masters recorded on-site. The location was the TV One Theatre, a ground floor production theatre in the original Manchester Unity building on the corner of Hobson and Victoria streets, Auckland. The site is now the location of TVNZ's Network New Centre, opened in the early 1990s. Although recorded in TV1's facility, the production and others made there during the mid-80s (Ricky May, The Yandells Special, Vicky, Jane and Maggie etc) were actually made under the auspices of South Pacific TV/TV-2's entertainment department, music dept, technical crews, session musicians and musical direction.
