This sub-story of the DLC is honestly pointless and they aren't going any deeper into Vegeta's life. They aren't showing us anything new. Nothing we didn't know already. Just Vegeta being an entitled, spoiled brat for an entire space of DLC. Reminding us why Toriyama popping his elitist bubble was the best thing that ever happened to him in terms of character. And still, not a single trace of Raditz for no reason at all.

@@huklo6331 No, he wasn't stronger than his father yet. King Vegeta was like 70,000 to 90,000. Kid Vegeta was below 18,000 (his power level when he met Goku). Vegeta was less powerful than Zarbon and Dodoria as a kid. That's why he was so excited about his Zenkai boost after fighting Goku and again after fighting Zarbon Monster. He wasn't powerful enough before then to take on Zarbon or Dodoria. He was implied to be equal to Cui.

Vegeta states that he reached his father's level as a child. King Vegeta's power level was 10,000 over twice as strong as Nappa and 80% weaker than Vegeta's first appearance. Keep in mind that Piccolo at 320 (over 30X weaker than Kid Vegeta) was effortlessly destroying moons and Roshi at like 120-160 (nearly 80X-90X weaker than Kid Vegeta) was able to destroy the moon and continue fighting Goku (Who should also be a moon buster at this point seeing as he almost beat Roshi) like nothing ever happened.

I'd say that's exactly the problem. He was such a child prodigy that he let the ego get to his head and started taking on opponents way out of his league, like trying to take on Frieza's entire army alone. It's not that he "got weak", it's that his ego overshadowed his actual abilities. Goku learned the very important lesson of "there's always someone stronger than you" at an early age from Roshi, Vegeta didn't have his first exposure to that lesson until he met Goku as an adult, and it didn't seem to be something he could accept until the Buu Saga.

That and was fighting for something more than himself Also he kept his back up instead of blowing them up, like Vegeta did with Nappa. It's after this that Goku got stronger than Vegeta - much to Vegeta's frustration. Amusingly, once Vegeta had Goku (or Kakarot) to compete against he's pretty quick to get rid of Cui. Though that could also be tied to his plan to become immortal via Dragon Ball.

When you look at it, it's basically a what if Bardock went Super Saiyan against Freeza. Honestly, we can say it revitalized Bardock as that special made him appear in nearly every Dragon Ball games going forward with his Super Saiyan transformation. Fans love Bardock and having him go Super Saiyan was the icing on the cake.
