Man, this guy's "unreleased" songs sound ten times better than most so called music stars hit songs sound. I miss you prince. I'm having a hard time buying new music these days since you left us. But I know you got more unreleased stuff to listen to than most musicians have in several lifetimes.

Yes even with his catalog of material that was released, there are gems that most people never heard because they didn't make it to the pop charts. Sadly most people only know the hits from no more than 3 to 4 of his albums. I'm so happy people now get to discover and revisit the genius' body of work on youtube.

I think Prince, as an older artist, was significantly more popular than most of his contemporaries, considering how well he did with ticket sales whenever on tour. His biggest obstacle to gaining a wider audience was having very little radio/youtube presence, which is a shame when one sees how many younger people are finally seeing the concert footage and hearing his albums.....they may have purchased the music and attended the concerts a decade ago. Many of us were his age, so it was a lot easier knowing what he offered musically, considering all the coverage he received 1982- 1993 by the media. Honestly, it's dubious that Prince cared: his freedom as an artist came first. Hopefully, new audiences will discover his music and legacy as a pioneer in the industry💜, and he will influence their own work.🌟

This gives me so much joy and pain at the same time. I’m dancing, singing and snapping my fingers...lost in joy!! Then the song goes off and reality punches me in the heart all over again. This happens everyday, multiple times a day. His vocals are nothing short of beautiful (low and high registers), his musicianship is amazing and unmatched. Natural talent - using what God gave him...just being himself and creating!!! God I miss him...it’s indescribable. 💜😢💜

love the sound of the old instruments. lets you know Prince stood the test of time. Prince's voice never aged. bass is heavy. bad ass ! this could've easily been on Prince's debut album (For You) as a follow up smash to 'Soft and Wet'. Taja Sevelle covered this song her debut album in 1987, but of course, this Prince version is the "original formula" LOL

This has been driving me crazy. Thought I was going nuts. I'm thinking I know this song very well so why are they saying its unreleased? So started searching through all my Prince albums and couldn't find it. Then came here and you provided the answer cos I had Taja's album duh 🙄 so thanks. Had no idea Prince was producer of Taja Sevelle who I loved. Imagine how many other people he guested on their albums either singing or playing ANY instrument or wrote lyrics or melodies for. I heard him say he didn't want anything in return. Gotta love this man 🎵💜

DeAngelo clearly is influenced by the Purple one , even Bilal which sounds eerily similar . Got it now friend ?

DeVaughn Currie You might be right. His vault has so much material, who knows when these demos were recorded.

More likely the For You or Prince Lp. Definitely not Dirty Mind (More Rock/Funk fusion) and Controversy (more electronic)

2010Gullwing Yeah, I see where you're going. Prince didn't do a lot of soul music at that time.

Taja Sevelle did a version of this song. However, this is a way better version. This should have made it passed the "demo" stage. IMHO, it probably would have made it to No.1 on the Billboard charts!

This song was submitted for a possible entry on Michael Jackson's BAD album. Jackson turned it down. Jackson wanted to make BAD the song a duet between him and Prince. Prince declined and said you don't need me on this it'll be a hit without me.
