The underlying platform itself is a let-down, and on top of that Kia really messed up by giving such an odd design. Syros probably must be having the most attractive brochure in it's segment with the plush interiors, plethora of fancy features and spacious seating arrangement making it everything that an urban family customer wants. All of that just to get rejected right away during a showroom walk-in, LMAO 🤣 Good analysis Paaji!

1. It is strictly for city use, if it is a 4 star, (which u feel it can achieve) then why declare it for strictly city use and making audience believe it is a highly unsafe car. 2. Criticizing design to the extreme. Agreed it does look odd. But we had the same perception for the previous creta too..still people opted it over Seltos. 3. Now comparing it with Kylaq. Koreans existing models - Venue & Sonet are better in terms of interiors fit n finish, performance & space. Kylaq stands nowhere. Kylaq ki ik hi USP hai ..turbo engine in such low price. That's it.

Body shell integrity is a key factor in assessing a car’s safety, yet Bharat NCAP does not disclose this like Global NCAP does. No one is talking about it, but we need to. A 4-star rating with a stable structure is much safer than a 4-star rating with unstable one. If the new Verna had been tested under Bharat NCAP instead of Global NCAP, people might have assumed it to be on par with other 5-star-rated cars with solid stable body shell but in reality, it's not the same.

You are right. We needed Global NCAP to stay in India to keep updating the test protocol. BNCAP isn’t voluntarily doing any tests and if a sponsored test would do bad they obviously will not disclose the rating.

I respect your points. 1) I completely agree about K1 platform being inferior. If it gets 5 star ratings, it is more than enough. 2) Design, yes it is polarising but this car is more like a spacious car which is not good in terms of looks. Wagon R too looks bad for me but still it sells a lot. 3) Coming to 1.5 NA engine, MS doesn't have an engine to Brezza, they could have opted 1.0 litre engine of Fronx to it, I dont know why it misses and for brezza the tax is 43% which is crazy. That 1.5 litre engine has just torque and easy to maintain as it is NA. 1.5 Turbo is not easy to maintain so Kia might have skipped it.

We don't care about flush door handles, moonroof etc. They don't have a single variant either without sunroof. Are we supposed to pay for such stuff which we don't want ? Neither doors felt heavy. It's not only that people don't understand about torque etc. 1.5 NA engine will have sufficient power as well to make a car equally good for highway, city or mountain region especially in cars of under 4 mtrs segment. Neither 1 Ltr GDI engines cheaper and will require more expensive repairs. Eventually govt will phase out diesel and petrol cars in favour of EV's so why should we be given only boring 1.2 NA engines in such cars. It's the customer who has to pay so there should be an option to let people choose engine, transmission and features. This scheme is forced like we will give fog lights in top variant only or different sort of light setup based on variants. Headlights that are given in top model is different and in lower model it's different, fog lights, defrogger etc are such things that they should be given right from base variant onwards or next to base model onwards. Sunroof too should be an option only. If one doesn't needs it then they shouldn't pay for it. Even Tata gives sunroof as an option in almost all variants. They charge extra for it. Nothing should be imposed onto all like give us this much then we will give you overdose of features

One huge thing that is being ignored in syros is the head light and tail light loction, naturally syros is a car made for tier 1 and tier 2 cities which have traffic issues and hence the probability of the "corners" of your car touching is high and even a small bumb to these lights will be very very expensive to fix!

But incase you overlook & step inside the Car all your perception of Ugly changes to Aspiration - Must own this car because it offers the best luxurious feel, practical flexible Rear Seat Comfort along with the Best feature list among the Sub 4 Mts C-SUV segment. Just to mention few attraction which for many uninformed buyers are - fantastic Quality dash layout with buttons controls, all window glass roll up, 30" Panel, newer stearing wheel, Panaromic Sunroof, dual Colour interior including Seat covers,....... To be honest more than 50% buyers are not interested in technology & whats Under the hood for traveling from A to B in City. For them attraction like loaded features, luxurious feelwala interiors and above all Comfortable Seating for family members. 80% Cars sells are because of above factors + efficency, trust & Confidence of Reliability from Brand & After-Sales Service Stn experience of owners & Network. Boss word of mouth plays a big role in India for Brands Sales nos., Popularity & Survival.

He does not to take that risk or swim against the tide. Buyers wants security of Reliability - Good Quality After-Sales Services & Network. He does want to get stuck with breakdowns, non availability of Spares & making fool of myself with poor Service Stn network. That's the main reason why people are buying mainly Maruti Hyundai, Tata, Mahindra, Toyota Cars. Excellent analysis! I agree fully with your first two points of K1 platform and missing NA engine. As I am looking for a city car (>60 kmph), last two point may not be that relevant as looks are subjective. The biggest let down is missing 1.5L engine with CVT gearbox. It would have made this car perfect for city use.

Apart from looks, nothing is wrong with Syros. I have E53 AMG in canada, it doesn't have wireless carplay/AA. So as far counting misses there are many in Bugatti also. Syros, Its price will be ard 20 lakh top model , 1.5 turbo will make 22 lakh. Diesel 1.5 is best of both worlds, but future is bleak

Have bought Slavia Prestige 1.5 DSG recently. On acceleration, the car pulls to right side(exaggerated if we don’t hold steering, of course on empty stretch of road). My currently budget under 10-11 lakh around My currently running 120-140 km daily.. i m a fitness trainer have to go for the different different client location .. Have lots of confusion.. I peace of mind car , engine refinement, build quality and , driving dynamic .. 1 preference . Should i go for diesel - Tata altroz - build quality no doubt good , but for the engine refinement .. can i compare with Hyundai if i go for venu or sonet ..yha muzko build quality se compromise krna pdega .. And if i go for cng option 2 Altroz cng .. 3 cylinder with cng performance issue , refinement issue in long term , initial pickup and local me performance nt good as i listen. Naxon out of budget- bt same confusion 3 cylinder. Long term performance 3 opt hyundai nios cng opt 4 cylinder Cng more compatible with 4 cylinder. Wht u suggest. I m earning money very hard

Sunder sir... firstly congratulations for 100k❤after many months of research, waiting my cousin finalized venue turbo(13.5 OTR )dct n kylaq AT(12.45otr) after checking many cars. There 1lakh diffrence DCT n AT. Both cars hv fulfilled her necessary requirements. Will be driving 50-50 city highway. My only question to u is shud I select DCT o TC.. as both cars hv same engine. I tried to find out n got to know that DCTs are better in terms shifts, driving n are also quick in terms of action... while TC are traditional automatic wt minimum maintenance but isn't quick as DCT...need ur help in selecting one as bit confused. Plz help sir

This already cost by Kia at is from 11 Lakhan to 20 lac On road price in delhi . It is very high for engine 1.0 liter capacity. KIA will Have to come down to the cost otherwise this car will Be failure on road and no booking also possible. As other companies and giving better features in petrol version.

Agree with the points made by you sir especially regarding the 1.5 NA engine but maybe they thought it would then cannibalise the sonet. Diesel is necessary for Kia though. Plus it would likely not cost much to offer a diesel due to parts sharing . K1 platform can get 4-5 stars with stable body shell but it's highly unlikely. I say this since euro spec i10 also based on the same platform (which is shorter than indian spec and looks much better) has gotten 3 stars in Euro NCAP with a good structural rating if I remember correctly. Syros is a strictly city car. Even then I would not recommend it to anyone. The position of the lights is highly susceptible to damage and they are going to be expensive LED units.

Only drawback of this car is underlying platform's safety. I saw Syros in blue and black looks very good and fresh as compare to other cars which are kind of following the almost same design language. And I hope interiors as well space of this car encourage others as well to improve theirs cars.

Try kar lo. Kitane log hai family me, kitna luggage rahta hai. Driving style kaisa hai. Service centres kitani door hai etc etc ye sab usake ownership ke douran aapko pareshan kar sakte hai. Cars to sabhi theek hi hoti hai bas apni jaroorat ko samajhane ki jaroorat hai.

Agreed, looks, although subjective, are definitely not good. It does make up for it in dark colors where plastic cladding does not standout much. Good point about 1.5L NA engine. Could have provided it with a CVT gearbox and this car would be great for city. If I had to buy a car in this segment today, it would be Syros wholly based on the comfort it offers. i20 N line, if I wanted something practical and fun to drive.

Companies will start providing 3 cylinder engines as it is cheap to be made and it requires less place. Even MS Swift and Dzire is now 3 cylinder. Future is 3 cylinder.

K1 platform 😢 when they can use K2. no 5*NCAP certificate still day. when no idea what what figeur achiv out of five ⁉️🤔 no idea 😊....and engine performance can't compare with VW Skoda kylak tsi turbo.dynamic stability and ride quality. I prefer kylak 4mm SUV over this boxy boy and other Brand his category segment ✅😊
