I love the pearl "snake" tiara, and I'm so sorry that it had to be sold. Princess Alexandra's jewelry collection is quite small compared to her brothers'. Prince Edward, as the eldest, received the lion's share of his mother's jewelry. However, since he was burdened with death taxes, he had to sell most of it. Prince Michael received two tiaras which are currently worn by his wife, as well as several demi-parures. Princess Marina did not divide her jewels equitably, favoring her sons over her daughter. She was of the opinion that a woman's husband was the one who had to provide the jewels for his wife, and so she left Princess Alexandra the bare minimum. In addition, she felt like her daughter was marrying beneath her station since Angus Ogilvy, though of impeccable ancestry, was the second son and therefore would not inherit the title Earl of Airlie. That was such a shame.
