+calinahodges She is beautiful and intelligent. Here is my fundamental struggle with Islam though, and I say it with no hatred or intended disrespect, but historically Mohammed was not a very nice guy! He was a military leader who killed and enslaved people, and unlike Jesus, or Buddha, or Zoroaster, or many other peaceful philosophers, he lived by the sword. So, I can view Muslims as good people and as friends but that should't mean, in my opinion, that I am not free to be critical of Mohammed, the actual man, or of a dictate by Muslims that he cannot be criticized (or even depicted in any way)! That type of fundamentalism has no place in a free and open society.
@mj12343219 жыл бұрын
My intent is not to demonize Mohammed, but I can better accept the good aspects of the man if I am allowed to also view him as a flawed human being, rather than accepting the cult-like adoration that forbids criticism or free thought. Another thought along those lines: Christianity has plenty of ugly history like most major organized religious movements. But it has progressed to the point of even acknowledging its own sins and apologizing for some of its own ugly past. I think the Islamic world would help relations by maybe saying, yes, Islamic conquest did kill and enslave people, and yes, it did all but wipe out the Zoroastrian religion, and persecute Christians, Buddhists, and those of other faiths. Yes, there are ugly truths that we can acknowledge as a first step toward reconciling our differences. We can maybe invite non-Muslims to Mecca and other holy sites, rather than making our temples closed to those of other faiths. Such things would go a long way I think toward making progress in healing some of the divides.

Lol,speaking English is nothing special, in fact it makes me laugh when ignorant Muslims like yourself see adopting the western lifestyles and speaking the queens English as something honorable. If anything it just shows that you have an inferiority complex, not only about your religion but its way of life. I would have been more impressed if she spoke the Quranic Arabic. This women is clearly disobedient to the commands of Allah (i.e no Hijab, lots of make up). She is a bad influence to Muslim women around the world, and to put it simply, if every Muslim adopted her brand of Islam, there would be no Islam.
@uzma1111 жыл бұрын
Speaking English is not what I was complimenting her for in my comment. If you actually listen to her, she speaks sense in a very well manner. Ok, so the fact she does not wear hijab means she's not perfect Muslim but it doesn't mean that she is not a good person. If you're such a good Muslim yourself, what you are doing here watching videos of a pretty Arabic non hijabi lady who's wearing make up? Why are you not lowering your gaze? See, you are not perfect either. No one is. stop being so arrogant and judgemental, mind your own. Just because you're criticizing her for not wearing hijab does not mean she will start wearing it tomorrow. You clearly are the one with the inferiority complex, picking at every imperfection you see of this woman. I am proud of my religion and do NOT have a complex about it.

So what has she done exactly to further progress when it comes to Saudi women's rights? It's years later. We still can't drive, we still can't travel without permission of a male relative and etc, etc, etc! Please. She's nothing more than royal eye candy...just good hair, big words and a pretty face. And lots and lots of money. We need a real revolutionary, someone brave enough to change the mindset of the people...not some privileged princess in expensive designer outfits.
@fatoumfatoumeh8 жыл бұрын
***** She's no inspiration to those who know better. Only to those who are easily impressed by glitz and glamour. What have I done? I'm no hero, but I'm someone who has seen true suffering in others, and have been directly involved enough to know that nothing is changing. Trust me, if you were in my position, you would feel as jaded as I do. You called me a dumb bitch, out of nowhere, because your cowardly self got butthurt by my realness. It's easy to call someone names when you are just a faceless and nameless online troll. Atleast my identity isn't hidden. I wanted to give you a dose of your own medicine, hence my foul response, which is wrong. But if I'm a bitch, your mom's a bitch, and so's your sister, yourself and every other female in your family. You don't go around calling random females bitches for no reason, while defending a person you think is a champion of women's rights...you don't see the irony in that? Why you so mad? You seem like an intelligent person who could be articulate if you wanted to be, you don't need to fling out obscenities to make your point.
@fatoumfatoumeh8 жыл бұрын
See? That's alot better! Now that you've properly elaborated your stance on the matter, I can begin mentally processing your comment to re-think the whole thing. But like I said, I'm extremely jaded due to the things I've witnessed over the past few years and my own personal circumstances. You'd have to be a girl living in a family of females with no able-bodied mahram to truly get the frustration. For example, I have been denied jobs at more respectable establishments because my father is unable to approve of me working (he has alzheimers). I have had to work in private firms without a legitimate contract and have faced abuse from employees and superiors (even a death threat once because I openly rejected the advances of of the HR manager infront of all the other employees...to be more specific, he threatened to run me over with his GMC, over and over, till my corpse becomes unrecognizable LOL...he was not Saudi, Jordanian if you are curious, but he dressed in Saudi garb to fool the laborers he regularly abused). Anyways, my professionalism was not taken seriously. And I'm someone who conforms to societal norms, I try to integrate myself into my community, I'm no rebel, I dress appropriately when outdoors, in proper hijab and abaya, I have no issue with the dress code or adhering to basic codes of conduct. I don't even mind the religious police, their existence don't have any impact on my lifestyle, whether negative or positive. So yes, I have become quite weary. I have to rely on a male relative who is practically a stranger to me, he is a good person (so far), though not entirely reliable, but who knows what could happen if my father were to suddenly pass? I have been warned by a lawyer that a shit storm could be coming in the way of me and my younger sisters, and my autistic brother (who I am also caring for atm). I have contacted human rights lawyers based in Saudi to help me better deal with the situation I'm in but nothing solid came out of it. So I would prefer to see someone like this lady work directly with people like me...when she starts being directly involved, I will change my mind about her definitely, and I will be the first one to sing her praises. Women not driving is actually the least of my concerns right now. I realize my situation is not typical, but I've met other girls like me. As to why I choose to put a picture, well, it makes me accountable for the things that I post for one, two, I know it's not very Saudi-like of me as a girl to be flaunting my identity (sort of) on social media, but I like seeing my face next to my words, if anyone wants to assume the worst of me for that, then it's their problem. I have not had privacy issues. I even plan on starting a VLOG sometime soon. Anyways, that was alot of typing, thanks for taking the time to write me a proper response, I did chuckle abit when I read your second comment, so I took no offense to it, I hope no hard feelings on your part either. I can honestly say that the only thing I'm still grateful for is that atleast I'm able to travel when I want to (the process is far from easy, but still). so I've been living in 2-3 different countries with extended family members the past few years...it's no fun. There is no stability in that.
@fatoumfatoumeh8 жыл бұрын
thank you :) your reply made my day :D Bs inshaallah, things will get better somehow. And yes, I was really worried when malik abdullah passed...I thought oh crap...fresh hell will come our way...but thank God, while things didn't get better, it hasn't gotten worse in terms of women's rights issues, not that I know of atleast, things don't feel different to me yet. I'm working on something at the moment. I'm actually the kind of person who sees humor in everything, and I've seen people who are worse off, so I'm grateful...it's my way of evolving as a person and dealing with stuff lol...well, I'll keep you posted then :) Have a great day :) and thanks again.

Caitlin McNally She doesn't look one bit like that vile plastic surgery loving woman named Kim. Only dark hair\eyes and tanned skin (in case of Ameera that her natural coloring). Don't compare her to the self-conceited, shallow, air headed American woman please. Ameera has an organization for orphan kids and works hard to make a positive impact. She's not princess by blood contrary to popular belief nor a poor gold digger. Her father is a sheikh meaning they're rich already and didn't need to marry a prince but she is actually devoted to her cause and wanted to make a positive impact to our society and internationally, to be a role model, representative and many Saudi girls now look up to her and she supports them to become something great, like lawyers, scientist..etc whilst Kim K is all about showing her gigantic ass and ducking her lips to cash on.

The issue of a woman's pay scale in Saudi Arabia, which I was subjected to while working in Al-Kobar in the hospital. In my experience, I was offered less compensation including wages & the quality of living quarters than were offered to the other workers with other well known names, like ARAMCO. I was so discussed with the working conditions at the medical center that I turned in my resignation after I was shown my substandard living conditions. My now ex-husband was being paid according to his "Syrian" nationality, as well as the workers from India being treated like slaves. What an "Eye Opener" for me! And, the hospital wanted me to take the position of "Director of Nursing Education." It showed me how much the hospital valued nursing education!!!

I was only commenting on the working/living conditions related to the nursing job that I accepted in Al-Kobar in 2000, not their religion. The hospital that hired me was decorated with marble floors, paintings, & huge family suite, while my living quarters were less than desirable. My financial compensation was far less then what I made in the US, & the "Jafali Compound" living quarters were so bad that I turned in my resignation. The hospital administrator wanted me to give him my airline ticket, which I said "hell no!" I was picked up from my hotel & shuttled to the airport where I met a man who returned my passport to me! Saudi Arabia is different than Syria &/or Jordan. You have to surrender your passport in Saudi Arabia, which is scary!!!

First of all congratulation for her and her moves in live, I hope she will succeed in all her beautiful purposes. But also congratulations to the interviewer. She was right this was a very nice interview, he spoke about delicate subjects, like the punishments, from respect, not attacking what he mights believe is wrong in another culture. From a very objective position. Congratulations again.

I have no idea why there is so much hostility towards her here.She is beautiful outside and inside.Besides,so very brave.You don't know what is inside her beautiful,so gentle soul.Why do you hurt her with your words here?.Why people can't remember that even the smallest of words can be the ones to hurt so much.?

Yeah. The Saudi royal family is the last group of people who should be speaking about what Islam is and what it means, much less about how to treat others. The women don't wear hijab when it is demanded of the women in the country (how can they have a law that's unjust under Islam and yet they don't have to follow it?) Women are not to be forced to wear hijab, it's a choice. The family drinks alcohol, which is haraam. They also spend extravagantly, which is also forbidden. Islam expressly forbids israaf or over-indulgence.
