@@laurentaylor1153 Constitutionally the only person the monarch could not marry was a Roman Catholic. Nothing constitutionally prevents the monarch marrying a divorced person. However, Edward VIII wanted to marry Wallis, divorce was socially frowned on, and as head of the Church of England, the King couldn’t be seen to marry a divorcée. Times have changed. Divorced people can now be married in the Church so there is not the same issue. Added to that, despite certain people on the internet wanting to present the situation differently, Charles and Camilla are relatively popular now. Camilla has worked very hard over the last 17 years, and people who met her really like her.

Don't forget that Charles and Camilla were dating long before Diana came along. Pity they didn't get married then. By all accounts they had a sort-of long distance relationship when Charles was posted somewhere in the military, and then both dated other people. Camilla got married, and divorced. When Charles and Camilla met again and dated again, Charles was not allowed to marry her because she was now a divorced woman. Pity that rule no longer applied when Harry met Markle! Anyway, Charles was now around 30 years old and the palace was pressuring him to find someone suitable to marry and produce heirs. Enter Diana, aged 18. They got married when she was 19 and Charles was 31. I don't believe that Charles ever truly loved her, or if he did, nowhere near as much as he loved Camilla. Diana and Charles were not suited to each other. If you want to blame someone, blame the palace and royal rules. If he'd been allowed to marry Camilla we wouldn't even know Diana ever existed. It is not true that Diana didn't have protection. She had bodyguards around her all the time, including when she took the boys out on adventures. One in three people divorce in the UK. A nationwide survey showed that 23% of married people had cheated on their spouses and that a further 20% would if they could get away with it. Another survey showed that 1.5 million couples in the UK engage in swinging. And we dare to slam Charles and Camilla?!?! What's that quote in the Bible? “He that is without sin among you, let him first cast a stone at her.” Camilla had a really rough time after Diana died but she had the courage to survive and thrive, and became very close to the Queen. We should respect that.

Mr Parker Bowles was a womaniser, philanderer all through his marriage to Camilla. Diana shunned royal protection officers after the divorce. I believe the Queen despite her concerns gave her consent to Harry marrying Meghan because she regretted the family pushing Charles and Diana together. You only have to see her face at H&M's wedding. She had already had a couple of run-ins with Meghan that we know about - the tiara, and one of the dishes for the reception which M insisted had egg in it. Her Majesty overheard and dealt with it quietly.

Once or twice I commented about some of the things that irritated the queen. I thought they were human and even female. I am a 77 yr old great grandma and really felt for the queen regarding things that happen with grown children we as moms have no control over. About queen consort to me it means Camilla has no real OFFICIAL schooling to act as a queen. She is not OFFICIALLY TRAINED in matters of state. However she is legally MARRIED to the king. In China they would consider her wife#2. As wife #2 she would have OFFICIAL DUTIES usually kitchen. In Biblical times she might be considered concubine but again there is the question of training. Queen Elizabeth I I summed it up properly with the word consort. Training definately and even with a kind of French thought and quality about. I loved the queens ability to phrase things properly.

The Queen lived a long and healthy life according to God's grace and mercy. My dad died age 96 in 1981 of old age.. My dad always said, if you live to 70 you are on blessed by God, , but if you make it to 90 it is because of God's grace and mercy. So yes Queen Elizabeth will be missed by all for she serve her country and the commonwealth with humanity and with the grace and mercy of God. Princess Diana was simply used by Charles. When he didn’t NEED her anymore he tossed her outside. She was more important to the world as all over this world people loved her and he was pathetically jealous.
