Princess Delphine cries after winning right to become princess

The once secret princess of Belgium has met former king Albert for the first time since her legal battle to be accepted as his daughter. A photograph released by the palace today shows Princess Delphine de Saxe-Cobourg sitting socially-distanced alongside Albert II and his wife Queen Paola in their home Castle Belvédère in Laeken on Sunday. Princess Delphine, 52, was officially recognised as the love child of Belgium's former king on October 1, something the aging monarch had fought tooth and nail to avoid ever since paternity rumors became public in 1998.

@H. A. Monarch's are the best insurance against a tyrannical government. What is happening in Belarus can not happen in the UK. Our military are controlled by the monarch not the government. If things get really bad, the monarch can dissolve parliament. Not to mention that a lot of more traditional Countries IE some of those in the middle east, still have more reverence for the monarch than they do our government. There are many situations where the monarchy is beneficial. That said, it's better when they are not disastrous human beings.

So, every member of the royal family does pay tax? For example, The Queen paid £4 million in taxes in 2018. And as for 'shaking hands with people' - For the year of 2018, the British royal family generated £150 million in revenue for the economy via their ambassadorial duties (I.e. shaking hands and making deals as representatives of the UK government).
