It isn't an automatic quality someone has simply because she's a woman. No one goes around talking about how strong a man is, etc. It's always how strong a woman is. Any time you see a woman being interviewed you'll hear about "how strong" she is. But why do they say that? Usually it's because she did something. Diana is doing work for the people. OK that's a good thing but it doesn't qualify her as being strong. It just means she's trying to be a decent human. The royals should be doing that. They're worthless for anything else. Is she strong because she stood out from the norm for a royal? Um, OK? If a prince did that you wouldn't be hearing how strong he is. But what qualifies her as being strong? If she was a man that word wouldn't be used. It's like we've been conditioned to put "strong" and "woman" together all the time. Why is that? Why can't a woman just be a woman without having to attach an additional qualifier to her? If she should be seen as strong, it should be a very specific reason, and not have it brought in the conversation because she's a woman. We should watch what she does and determine for ourselves if the word "strong" comes to mind naturally, without being told. Example: "She ran the marathon at a record pace." That took genuine strength, of body and of will. OK I like that and I would quickly think that she's a strong individual, probably stronger than me. But you see what I mean? We often speak or behave according to conditioning.

Oh how this hurts on another level now… If things had gone differently, if Charles had truly loved Diana, not Camilla, we’d be reading ‘Queen Consort Diana’ at the moment… I am so sorry for the way you were treated, Lady Di. You were not so fragile as a candle in the wind, you had so much strength, grace and a genuinely good heart, unafraid to be accessible to those most vulnerable. You deserved much better. I was born 1 year after her death which I honestly can't get over. Diana might have been the kindest person ever, and it breaks my heart that she faced such abuse from the rest of the establishment especially Charles. In some alternate reality, Diana would have made an incredible Queen. Even though we are essentially going to have a rather short time with Charles, him being King is just not a pleasant concept, not in the least. All I feel for Charles is disgust.

My God... her voice just sounds so lovely to hear. "Someone's got to go out there and love people." This kills me... As in, go out and give more than a public address on TV, during national times of strife? Such as the Queen during the London bombings- "You are all in our hearts." Not saying that it wasn't at all meaningful or heartfelt, and the Queen did do her time in the armed services, to an extent; but Diana actually was in the crowds, in the slums, with the people. Her charity work and resources spent on the downtrodden, the sick, the less fortunate; all was seemingly eclipsed by tabloids and royal family expectations. Not saying there wasn't anyone who acknowledged her selfless acts, but as a child, I can recall every tabloid in the grocery store being covered in "Lady Di" gossip; plus the gossip of her friend Michael, or as the magazines dubbed him, "wacko jacko". Sad. I mean, as kids of the 90's, we grew up potentially thinking these horrible rumors were fact. The power of the media to influence the impressionable. I somehow knew it was all BS because I'd seen them both doing so much more on TV. Sigh
