Princess Leia's Theme - Sample Library Demo (MIDI Mock-Up)

Princess Leia's Theme from Star Wars Episode IV - A New Hope. Composed by John WIlliams.
I wanted to create a demo for some of the more recent additions to me sample library collection, and it just so happened that at the time I was thinking about which score to a virtual orchestral mock-up, the Maestro John Williams turned 90 years old.
Fast-forward one week and here is my virtual orchestral (MIDI) Mock-Up of Princess Leia's Theme, showcasing some of my sample libraries.
Libraries include: Cinematic Studio Strings, Spitfire Audio Apassionata, Cinebrass, 8Dio Century Brass, 8Dio Claire Virtuoso woods, Orchestral Tools Berlin Solo Woods and Performance Samples Solo Violin B to name just a few.

Really stunning, impressive work David... My severe compliments. You sure managed to blend all these diff libs. Great mix and production also. Appassionata does give that extra emotional punch in my opinion. And all by ear I guess. That's impressive.

Thanks Jeff. Very kind words. Yes, I did it all by ear, no score for this one. I referenced three different recordings to try and figure out exactly what each instrument was doing.

@@DavidTregoningAnd one sure need some guts to do a well know track mockup. But you nailed it imho. Seems to be a great opportunity to make some steps in the learning curve also. Never did such a mockup myself, but yours does inspire me to look after one ;-), let's see...

Hey David, how did you make the midi piano roll in your video? First I see this from Logic. And well done by the way, that’s a really good idea you had there, to expose different libraries in the same piece of music!

Thanks Philippe. For the piano roll (which is indeed from Logic) I record a portion of my screen, then bring it into after effects and play with the levels/contrast and change blend mode to ‘Add’.

Great video, I discovered sample libraries recently and it helped me improve my production quality. My content proves you don't have to know music theory to make fairly good covers, technology can do wonders sometimes,lol Peace, from a Pink Floyd fan
