GV Pan down exterior of St. George's Chapel, Windsor. LS to CU As the coffin bearing Princess Marina, borne by NCO's of the three regiments she was colonel of, is brought down the steps from the chapel and placed in a waiting hearse. MS Pan as hearse drives away under the Henry VIII gate, pan back to royal mourners on the steps of the chapel. Immediate family of Duke and Duchess of Kent, Princess Alexandra and Angus Ogilvy, and Prince Michael are foremost with Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh in background. They enter their car and drive off. MS As the Queen and Duke pause to speak with the Dean of Windsor, the Very Rev. Robin Woods, before entering their car and driving off. The rest of the royal family do likewise amongst those seen are Queen Elizabeth, the Queen Mother, Prince Charles, Princess Anne, Princess Margaret and husband. MS Duke of Windsor (former King Edward VIII) entering car and driving off.

I was stunned to see the Duke of Windsor

The Duke wanted to be accepted by the Family & would have gone to any Family event. The Duke of Windsor was very close to his brother, The Duke of Kent who died in a plane crash in WWII.

He often came back to the UK minus his wife. The Duke was still very much loved by the people of the UK. And this funeral was for his late brother’s wife. I don’t know why you’re so stunned. In 1972 when he died he laid in state for 3 days. There was 2000 people per hour paying their respects.

It was the last royal ceremony the Duke attended and it's been reported that it was after it that he decided he would like to buried at the Frogmore Royal Burial Ground himself, along with Wallis, of course, if the Queen would approve, which she did.

She was not a bit Greek. She was German , Danish , Russian and was 3 times a descendant of king George II of Great Britain both through her mother and her father.

Agree. There was a dramatic change in styles and haircuts in the 1960's Just luv Princess Anne's boufant brimmed hat. Just about everyone has got some variation of the Jackie Kennedy style pillbox hat.

'@nathanelondon only the Monarch and highly distinguished figures are given state funerals ceremonial funerals are for consorts of the Monarch and the Prince of Wales but Lord Mountbatten, Diana, and Margaret Thatcher and no not everything was done quietly only the more minor members of the family have a quiet funeral state funerals as we know them now started in 1901 with Queen Victoria's there are clips on here of Victoria's Edward VII, George V and George VI state funerals and Queen Alexandra's and Queen Mary's ceremonial funerals but there have been public funerals held for centuries

Yes , probably with the Duke's mother, the then Duchess of Gloucester. His father had health issues after suffering a stroke in 1965.

I would not recognize any of them. I only remember Olga because she was considered to be one of the most beautiful women of her generation and I had seen pictures of her and Prince Paul.
