Our princess lived for 22 years. He was lovely bird, very friendly and affectionate, loved to nudge you with his beak. He was a good talker. Would definitely recommend a Princess.

Mine is broken. Dirty gremlin that needs a hormone shot every quarter to stop her from laying eggs nonstop, cackles at me and scuttles under the sofa like a rat. Can't see too well because of cataracts. FWIW, she was a rescue, no idea how old she is or what her life was like before. Her last owner was some old dude who had a bunch of dogs and birds he was clearly in no condition to care for anymore and I'm pretty sure she's traumatized.

Great review, I just got a princess parrot and you described them perfectly. Omar's was one of the few places in the United States I could find a princess parrot, luckily I found one locally.

I have a male Princess Parrot and mine is NOT a quiet bird at all. Quite the opposite actually. He is very, very loud with his squawking and high pitch noises. He does talk a bit and says a few things that is very cute. Other than the noise level he’s a very good, quirky bird. ❤️
@kamilcanacar6477 Жыл бұрын
I Can vouch for that, my male also loves to talk during The day. He makes The Sound of my alarm now and then

What a sweet little bird! I had only heard of these in passing so I’m really grateful for the info! Of all the parrots I’ve looked into, the bronze wing is still “the one” but aside from Pionus species, these guys would probably be my second or third choice.
@zarahofshiloh7537 Жыл бұрын
I enjoy your channel of learning the different pros and cons of each parrot out there. The down side to hand raised is they are not allowed to get the gut flora they need that comes by way of the regurgitation from their parents. This leads to a lower immunity of not being able to fight of infections from bacteria they may come in contact with.

I’ve been watching all your Parrot Reviews and other videos lately and they’re very helpful! I’m a somewhat-intermediate experienced bird owner getting ready to choose my next parrot. I haven’t had one for several years, and these videos all really help me consider! I would love to hear your thoughts on Quaker Parrots and Ringnecks!
@Fivesaflock3 жыл бұрын
Both are great pets! I don't have any personal experience with Quakers yet as they are banned here in California but I hear they are great. But Indian Ringnecks are amazing pets if you can work past their bluffing stage.

You might consider the Superb parrot as well, it's a close relative to the Princess parrot. I have a 11-month old male, it's my first bird and he's delightful. He won't shut up or stand still for a second (except when sleeping), he's very playful and friendly and not aggressive in the least. Lately he's a bit nippy probably because of spring hormones, but he just wants to play. He's an incredible flyer: he can take off vertically, fly sideways, switch direction mid-air, and land in speed while drifting. Every day he makes my wife and I go wow for his flying skills, or make us laugh with his neverending chattering. When he's not angry for staying 5 minutes too long in his cage, the tone is pretty pleasant as well.

If I go to school would I still be able to provide the princess parrot with enough attention? I say I’d have about a hour and a but after school to hang out. Also are these birds toilet trainable?
