It's best to stay in Galveston, and most hotels will shuttle you to the terminal. The Strand is a nice place to spend an evening the day before you leave.

I liked it and made sure I went either before noon or after 430p. It gets busy. The sauna and thermal bath were relaxing when people weren’t there! It’s a nice thing to do in a colder climate! Thanks for watching.

Good information, thank you. Were you taking Lyft from a hotel near George Bush IAH airport or Hobby airport? How did you find ride share in Galveston after the cruise?

We flew into Houston Hobby and stayed at a Holiday Inn Express by the airport. We took our Lyft from the hotel. Returning we ended up taking the Princess bus thinking it might be too busy at the terminal. The terminal was quiet and it seemed like maybe it would be ok to take a Lyft. I don’t know where the pick up is, but you would just order on their app.

We flew into Houston Hobby, stayed at a nearby Holiday Inn Express and took a Lyft from there to Galveston. I booked my hotel through booking.com. Just know their shuttles don’t run after 9pm. 🕘 www.booking.com/Share-2frn2f. I believe Hobby is a little closer.

I flew into Houston Hobby so it was an airport hotel. We arrived late after 9pm, so the shuttle didn’t run. We took a Lyft for $10. The hotel was located 10 minutes from the airport. 9185 Gulf Freeway, 77017, Houston. Holiday Inn Express & Suites Houston Hobby. They had breakfast and I am sure could help you out with suggestions. I just didn’t eat anywhere that night. It was too late. ⏰. We took a Lyft from there to Galveston. Lyft was cheaper! Thanks for watching!

How do you get the free room upgrade?

I have no idea. My room was changed for some reason. I think it was an overbook situation. I just let them pick my room and paid for an interior and maybe they ran out? It was a full ship!
