(potential spoilers) I think even the actual show forgot that, since it seemed like episode 6 treated V and N 's visors as their eyes when V was able to avoid being bootlooped by the Sentinels by wearing human glasses over her visor and not her _actual_ eyes.

Answer to some ppl's questions bout' the headband on the dissasembly drones: It seems as if their eyes are actually on the headband, and the visor may just be an extra sight area, or extra sensor. That could explain why when uzi popped one of the bubble things on the headband of J using the pen, J was in pain and could not see well after, (ep 1) and why V didn't get bootlooped while staring at the sentinel with her glasses on whist seemingly using her arms to cover the headband may be cuz' the visor isn't her actual eyes
