The house wasn’t destroyed, but almost every road was blocked, no power, no water, my water system was busted by a large tree, there ate huge trees on the ground everywhere. Downed power lines everywhere too.

I went to a small middle school, and was in the next Vocabulary testing level from most of the other students, so I had to take my Vocabulary tests in the teacher's lounge. It is indeed as mundane as you described.

When I was in high school one of my classmates and I did a webpage for our horticulture class and planned school greenhouse (which was built after I graduated) for extra credit, by request of the horticulture teacher. We took large group photos with the teacher and the entire horticulture class of that school year for the page but when it went live, those photos were missing. Perplexed, I asked the IT teacher why the photos were omitted. Turns out some of the students were throwing gang signs in it. Anyway, it has once again been a pleasure to rewatch this classic and hear your commentary. Until next time, cheers!

Never messed with any public-facing school websites, but I went to university for IT/web development and part of my final graduation project was working with a couple of the uni's IT staff to design and develop a web-based inventory item and room reservation system for the rest of the staff to use. They already had separate systems for reserving inventory items and for reserving room time slots, and my group had to develop a private internal website on the university's network that combined both of those into one cohesive place where staff could login and reserve either inventory items and/or room time slots rather than having to go to different places for each.

I took an intro to education class in community college where I got to observe a teacher at a local school. I was luckily assigned to my old middle school to observe my 7th grade English teacher who I really liked. It was during this experience where I got to get a better sense as to how teachers can be outside of class, but also got to hang out in the teacher's lounge for a bit. Like you said, it's pretty much just a place for teachers to plan lessons, eat lunch, drink coffee, and socialize.

Yeah it is true that nowadays social media is the preferred way of advertising school related events or news. But you have to keep in mind that this episode aired in early 2006. At that time, sites like Twitter/X and Instagram didn't exist yet, and sites like Facebook and even KZbin were still very new and not well known. Social media really didn't become a popular method of advertising until the early 2010s.

Facebook wasn't even around yet either but KZbin was. Before Facebook, Twitter/X, Instagram, etc all we had in the mid 2000's was Just AOL and MySpace. Facebook founded around the time this episode aired 2006 in Boston Massachusetts USA, however today is it Headquartered in Silicone Valley California USA. But Facebook didn't become available to the public till 2008.

I think the reason kids are working on the website is precisely because the gamer teacher didn't want to pay professionals to do it, by the way, I think we have to look at this show through the eyes of a 12-year-old's imagination and we would understand better the crazy stuff happening in that school
