Learn the principles of abstract painting in acrylics in the masterclass. Watch for a demonstration of easy abstract painting techniques and different tools to make texture and an eye-catching abstract art design. This abstract art tutorial is using acrylic paint to make abstract paintings, but you could also use these abstraction techniques with other mediums like oils.
I'm making a nonrepresentational abstract painting using thick paint, layers, and beautiful blue, purple, and yellow colors. I share the brushes and palette knives I'm using to create the fun textures and interesting moments in my artwork. Learn how to paint abstract art by watching this video!

This was a generous video. Very interesting. It would be cool to practice more abstract mark marking, forms, patterns etc to use as a background and interest in places. I personally tend to like the contrast of more abstract parts, and some areas of realism. I liked what you were saying about the graphic element, where it can grab the viewers attention from a distance etc. Your colours always look great.

this is an amazing painting! Thanks for your hard work. Q: when you look at the color wheel and said, we can use the initial color blue with the color on the same said(green, purple) and a little bit of opposit color like(yellow, red...). But the final painting turns out to be the blue side and yellow side is 50:50 which is also beautiful. I am a little confused. I always have troubles on choosing the right color compositions, but it seems that if we use high saturated blue, we need to use low saturate yellow(very light) together? Thanks

Yes, my initial thoughts for the colors and then how it turned out were a little different, but that is how abstract paintings evolve. That's one of the beautiful things about them I think, is that you feel in the flow as you are painting and things come about in the creative process. As for using a high saturated blue and then having to use a low saturated yellow, I don't think that's necessarily the case. It just depends on what your goals with the painting are. I have found that sometimes if you use all saturated colors it's a bit too much, but that also depends on the type of painting. For abstracts it seems like customers prefer more muted colors with pops of saturation. But with my animal painting, for example, people want all saturated colors. Everything saturated everywhere. The more saturation, the better honestly. It depends on the subject and style you are painting.
