For some card games I printed the back and front, cut them out with a metal ruler/craft knife (# pattern inside the edges of the paper so they hold it together), individually cut/round the corners, then sleeved them with a regular playing card between them for stiffness. No gluing. For the tokens... I'd glue the first sheet to bristol board (add a registration spot on each sheet, punch a hole thru the sheet/board with a push pin, then separately thru the second sheet. Align the second sheet to the others and glue. Then use the punch. Or make hexes so they can be cut out easier.

I often only use glue when the sleeves are big. If the card and playing card are a good fit to the sleeve, gluing is not needed. Gluing tokens to scrap cardboard and then cutting is a great method for making tokens. Comic backing boards are also useful here.

That's interesting. I found glue sticks don't stick well over time, did your tokens fall apart? good idea with the comic book board. I have the same corner punch.

Not yet. But I have found this is the past. I usually just grab the glue stick and re-apply if I see it lifting. Often I'll put tokens through my laminator if I want a more permanent finish.

@@OutofTheBoxBoardGames I haven't made tokens but instead of glue sticks for other paper projects I use Scotch Super 77 Multi-purpose adhesive spray glue in the arts & crafts orange can with purple cap is a finer spray than doesn't splotch and clog the nozzle like the classic heavy-duty Super 77. but the way you make these tokens the glue stick is less messy.

Do you have a list of all the things that you use to make the PNPs. I am getting into PNP and so looking for the specific things needed.
@OutofTheBoxBoardGames2 жыл бұрын
I don’t have a list but basics would be cutting mat, craft knife, steel edge ruler, glue stick and a good set of scissors. Next steps would be a fiskar cutting tool (like in my video) and a kadomara pro for corners. After than I love my A3 laminator - great for play mats, cards, tokens and standees.

Hello, thank you for an interesting video. How is this Friskas knife performing for you? He has very different opinions.

Love it. The Friska cutter is great. This is my second one. My other one is bigger. This one is great for cutting cards as I watch tv. Also it’s made of recycled materials.

I just use scissors for cutting out the tokens. Otherwise you’ll need 100 tools
@OutofTheBoxBoardGames Жыл бұрын
Yes. But it does depend on the size/shape of the tokens. I often trim my hexagonal tokens with my Fiskar trimmer. (Before and after lamination.)
