After going through a full set of 220ml cleaning cartridges and countless nozzle cleaning cycles, ultras sonic cleaning cycles and printing perhaps 100s of pages with ink and also with cleaning fluid, I have finally conceded that i have to start taking things apart. This video is by far and away the clearest and most detailed procedure that I have found on KZbin. It is an absolutely superb effort. Thank you very much!

Yup, the best tutorial I've seen to date and it's been almost 10 years since you posted this!. I don't need this procedure (yet) but I certainly bookmarked it just in case. I'm running my 7600 on Windows 11 with the (last) x64 drivers Epson made available. You have to disable driver signature (look it up) and manually install the printer after that but it works like the day I bought it 20 years ago!

Wow! What a great video. Certainly not for everyone, but for those (such as myself) with printer issues and mechanical skills, a GREAT instructional video. Very clear and precise instructions, WIthout this video, I would never attempt this procedure. I am going to give it a try shortly. Thank you sooooo much! Best regards! Ron

I had very few bars upon testing (after my 4000 being idle for months) - thus clugged. So, since cleaning and power cleaning weren't helping, I following your video, I've cleaned my heads getting a very clean waterfall and re-assembled. After restarting and power clean, I had NO patterns. Suspecting that I made an error, I disassembled again and found that the grounding fork was pushed inside the case so re-aligned the fork and reassembled. Still no patterns after this second attempt. So as a last attempt, I filled all my cartridges to the top, disassembled, cleaned the heads again (stream is fine), primed each color by using a syring (fine), reiseated the two ribbon cables, reiseated the fork and reassembled. Again, still not pattern. The printer reports no errors and seems to be operating normally. It seems that the inks are not being pumped since I see no ink movement in the tubes. Did I miss something in assembly, is the pump now bad or is it possible the the entire heads in not bad?

Michael, I have done this twice and was very liberal with the flushes and waterfall the problem is though that when printing tests some of them are perfect and then some of them are not (not by a long shot!) On auto one row they are almost 100% and then the next row maybe a few of them are 60% and then another color changes from 100% to 60/70/80/90% it doesn't make sense the waterfalls looked as though they were well cleaned? Do you have any idea Michael why this is happening right now I have used half of a set of 220ml inks surely this cannot be right... Any feedback really appreciated. Thanks Hugh

Hi. This is the second time I follow these steps. Thank you so much for doing such a good tutorial. My 4000 is almost 20 year old. Best video on here by far for print head removal and flush, a big thanks (saved my 4800 from the scrap heap) Just two questions .....1 can you slip the belt off without taking the side of the printer off. 2 . Do you need to keep some cleaning fluid in the head when first switching on (maybe to prevent heat damage to head) thanks Peter from UK

I followed this video to the T and meticulously followed and reviewed each step. Performed exactly as demonstrated. Now the epson stylus pro 4800 prints nothing. It went from just off colors and banding to absolutely not one drop of ink. Though it goes through the motions with no error message, saying "printing" on the display, clean white paper comes out. What could I have done wrong? Any suggestions for what to double-check on? Willing to redo the whole process ... can you point me at the exact solutions used in the video (what is textile solution)?

Same here, Since i see that your questioned wasn't answered, id like to at least let you know that in every print head I've ever tried this method, I always get the solution to come out the next color. i'm thinking its the pressure inside the print head that might cause the other colors to eject whatever is inside. I apply gentle pressure so as to not damage the print head.

I just gave up on ink jets. All they are is a pain in the ass and they ink is sometimes horribly expensive for what little you get. It seems that something with nozzles so small that they are known for clogging easily are a recipe for failure anyhow.

I have a Brother HL-2140 (black and white laser). It has never given my any trouble and I must have had it for 10 years. I don't print a lot so I only had to replace one toner cartridge. There is a very similar one to that which is WiFi enabled. The colors on the case are the reverse of those on the HL-2140. I see that one in the bank where you can go print stuff from your account. My printer is an older model obviously and so I am doubtful that that still produce that one. You can still get all the consumables for it anyhow.

I fixed all of my inkjet problems when the nozzles clogged. Want to know what I did? It did not involve any messy print head cleaning or even replacing those damned cartridges. What I did was just throw the F-ing printer in the garbage and buy a laser printer. I have never had any problems with the laser printer yet and I had it for at least 5 or 7 years. The only thing it ever needed was a new toner cartridge. My Uncle tells me that only businesses need laser printers but I think is absolutely 101% full of shit. Why should businesses be the only ones to have a trouble free printer that does not require ink that is more expensive than fine French Cognac? He always has bad luck with things then he wonders why I never ask him for advice on what to buy. Instead when he buys something I take it as a lesson on what not to buy because he buys cheaply made junk that fails too soon. He buys lesser known crappy brands of things when they are on sale. I would rather spend the extra $50 on something that I will like that will last. I don't hate spending money, I am just cheap and don't like inkjet printers no matter who made them. I bought a laser because at that point I could care less about printing color and lasers generally make sharper black and white prints which I like better than inkjets.
@JohnDoe-gm5qr

John Doe It would have been fun to take it to a field in the middle of no where with a sledge hammer and a few of my friends and beat that pile of junk to oblivion. Then I have also considered encasing it in concrete as if it were a custom made Italian cement shoe. They can be awfully expensive depending upon who makes them hehehe.
