Ok guys, sorry if this has come out the wrong way, but this is not a video for TESTING input shaper or seeing input shaper results.. this was just a video having fun when you crank up accel to what klipper suggests. This part was perfect for high accel since it doesn't have corners or sharp angle... so there is not much shaping happening. Just high speed printing :) Maybe I should have not talked about input shaper first hehe... and just say lets print at 35k and 600mms.

you can still see some ripples in the corner at 5:05 , filament and lighting do a lot, also this is a vid about the 'recommended' input shaping values so the results are technically pre-tuned and should be good on a good printer. also layer height helps a lot, even on a slow printer

I think you said it perfectly when you said " It depends on what you use it(the part) for". I've printed at 120mm on my bed slinger printer and it still prints perfect looking but layer adhesion is a bit weak, but on those parts strength wasn't important so speed won for me (because it was a prototype for checking fit), especially when it turned an 18 hour print into a 4 hour print. I'd add that it's important to know your printers capability and what you plan to use the print for. Very useful information that might save you a lot of time in the future. In my case, it bought me time to tweak the design, reprint again and then later slow it down for better adhesion whereas I might have had to print 36 hours to get the final part I only spent about 26. 8 on the prototypes and then the final at regular speeds.

Been watching and waiting a long time for full kits to be offered (no time for sourcing). I've been using a V2.4 350 for production for a couple years now, but it is now looking slow by comparison. This video makes it clear that I can likely get and easy 2x-3x print time cut with your kinematics and printhead/HE combo. Your designs have come a long way and now I see a kit, but it doesn't look like I can order it with water cooling. Also, I saw you were developing water cooling for steppers as well... is this ready for primetime yet? I'd like to use VZ printers for production and would like the option of PEEK/PEK and similars. Will we see a kit with all options offered soon? Perhaps at least water cooled HE option with the kit?

Great gantry! Love it! Would be nice to see a side to side comparison of same part printed with 0.2LH instead and half speed to compare quality and see if it makes any sense to drop LH that low. Should take roughly the same time too. My guess is that you will see less ripple and ringing at arcs, while 0.2LH increase from 0.1mm isnt much noticeable IRL with eyes especially on larger parts.

that would definetely how I would print it normally. Bigger layer height, more flow, and less speed with the same print time. The printer can only be self made either from buying the full kit or self sourcing all the parts from the BOM list. The VzBoT will probably never be a companny. Its open source project with a posibility to upgrade all parts to metal CNC. This is on the CNC parts that we can make a bit of money, im not going to lie, but we reinvest in dev and parts, and rum.. .cough cough... I meant coffee. I own the VzBoT licenses and we partner with Mellow and F3D in germany to produce parts etc. I have designed the goliath hotend as well. Maximum recommended acceleration is about "rounding" of trajectory created by shaper, it's not some random number, but math, exceeding this number will result in rounding of sharp angles on parts the more you push acceleration. So i don't really understand what exactly you've tried to test here, but your part is basically wrong for testing this recommended number

I don't see what this is testing. There are no corners to get rounded. The max recommendation is computed as the point at which the IS filter produces potentially unacceptable toolpath deviation, not anything to do with the max acceleration the machine can handle, which is easily 5x higher. I generally run 50-75% of the recommendation for outer perimeters and the max achievable without skipping steps for everything else.
