Printing in the Darkroom - Medium Format - Session 01 | F-Stop Timing

In this video, I attempt to try F-stop timing in my workflow instead of linear timing. Although I am not happy with the final prints (underexposed/flat), I really like the process of F-stop timing and will be using it going forward.

I think you've persuaded me to go for an f-stop timer. Realised I needed a more accurate enlarger timer and went down a rabbit hole of research. Cheers Tony

TLDW: Use exponential time increase instead of linear, like it's done in film exposure process. Do we need 14 minutes film for this?

one pretty major flaw in your video, you initially started to explain what "f stop timing" is, but then you got off on a small tangent and never actually got back to explaining what "f stop timing" is...... so, you proceed with the video showing data charts and stuff, but failed to even explain what it all is because you did not ever explain what "f stop timing" actually is.

That’s a fair point! To be fair I did provide references that go into great detail. But you are correct, I should have done a better job explaining the concept before trying to put it into practice. That’s great feedback and I’ll try and keep it in mind in the future.
