Len, the bento box is a free print and all you have to buy is two fans and the charcoal. It's like $10 to make yourself.

What carbon did you use? I heard you need acid free or it could slowly corrode the printer
@bsimmons0011 ай бұрын
@@cwill6491 I think I ordered from Carbon Bulk Sales. Whatever is recommended by the Bento Box creator. That's the most expensive component for the box as you might as well get a bunch but it'll last forever.

@@cwill6491 yea, acid free is the way to go, it's not even a slow corrosion, just few hours and you can see rust all over...

Instead of 2 sided tape use velcro to make it easy to pull out the filter when it needs filter change.

Ikea offers an air quality sensor that does PM2.5 and tVOc’s. Don’t know if it is any good!

The BentoBox is an easy 3D print too so if you have fans and magnets lying around it can be even cheaper. I ran the cable along the back and up over the lead screw recess to a power connector I put on the rear panel. With a power brick plugged into a smart plug I can turn the Bento fan on and off by voice and the cabling is almost invisible - there are models available for printing to cover up the cable. Adding a hose to the chamber fan outlet and venting to the outside is also recommended

Not everyone has 4028 fans laying around I think. I had 4020 fans inside the Bento and the effect was negligent at best (mind you these were GDStime genuine ones). not sure about you but when I was sourcing myself I went easily over 50 bucks, so this seems like a really good deal to me. Also preinstalled heatinserts are godsend haha - I ruined two prints cuz I am a noob when installing those, if this kit was available earlier I would not think twice.

I 2 used genuine 4020 maglev fans they are work epic

No way a $25 unit has real sensors. There is a youtuber from germany opened one up and found them to be fraud. I looked up some sensors myself. It could be those things are just outputting fake data.

Len, In this video you mentioned you were going to install the Bentobox. Did you check the air quality before and after the install. I understand some commentors are skeptical about these cheap sensors, but it would be interesting to know if there was some efficacy from installing the Bento. I'm not against putting a room purifier right near the printer. Costco has a Winix 4 Stage Air Purifier Model C545 for $100. Your thoughts?

Just a follow up on your notice about the small air monitor, if you click on the name of the vendor, they have two links for the same unit, but, the second one is purchasable for nearly $50 dollars. The one you show, only has 2 reviews, appears to have been started and then abandoned, and definitely should have been removed. The other is also there, also has 2 reviews, but you can buy it, as it was set up fully.

Thats an excellent video, would you mind doing one for Nevermore v6 as its more popular in voron communities however it only have carbon filter, so i’m thinking about adding the bento box but not sure if its necessary, i have concerns regarding VOCs and this result is encouraging, would you kind also running it for like few more minutes after the print finish to see if ALL voc got vanished? Thank you

The p1S comes with a filter box at the rear, so would it be necessary to do the bento box?

You may want to pin this comment to the top. I have the Air Knight. It does not work for what I MUST print at, high temp PLA at 235-240c. I have a print farm and print in 170 sq ft room with 8) P1P Bambu's all running. Which is said to throw out a good amount of ultra micro particles from PLA at high temps. This Air Knight does find a HUGE amount of particles on both micro levels it sniffs for when I brought it to houses for sale that my daughter is looking at. In the 100 level on both at a couple houses. So it is working, but just not for micro PLA. I bought the next level unit that COULD sniff my PLA out, and it does. A Dylos DC1100PRO. I would get a large # of both big and micro with this unit. When I turn on my regular Hepa filter machine it cleans it out of the room. We went to the next level and got a next level Hepa 14 unit Puroair 240 small unit) to make sure we get the finest micron level we could get.

I got one, and it is actually an alcohol detector and some other cheap components. If it’s important then you will have to pay a significant amount for something that is genuine.
