@@photoflooddaysOh awesome, landscape images or some type of street photo in a city?

@tim.poirier mostly landscapes, I find their landscapes very interesting, especially during the autumn and winter. Russia has such a calm, soothing, untouched nature - similar to Iceland with very different landscapes. It is a shame that I can't go there anymore thanks to You-know-who(If you say his name, he sends radioactive tea🤣). Beautiful country with a horrible dictator.

I agree, and often they the tend to hold more meaning as well making then more special when you capture them as you feel connected to the scene. Thanks for watching 😁

You are absolutely right. Great locations for me always bring that stress and pressure that I have to make an image that can well represent the greatness of the location. And as I'm doing KZbin, the stress became real. I don't remember when was the last time I truly enjoyed the location itself and just that pure joy of making photos. / I read this joke many years ago: How to make good $ when you're a photographer: Sell your camera(s) lol

I'm glad I'm not the only person who feels this way! Maybe I will sell all my cameras and go for a nice vacation.... But that wouldn't work because I would end up wanted to take pictures anyway 😂

I don't travel around to epic locations much anymore myself, some of it because at least here in Ontario they can get quite busy now and getting the same photo as everyone else gets boring. Getting a great photo in a familiar place is not only more challenging but also thrilling when you get them. I took a photo last year of a rotting log along a trail I've walked regularly with my camera gear for 20 years. Somehow I found something new and great in a familiar place. A lot of it came down to just playing around with a wider angle lens in a different way. That photo stood out among my fall 2023 photos. I see garbage on remote sections of trail near here all the time. I figured it was just an Ontario thing. Sad to see it's there too.

I 100% agree that getting an a great photo of a familiar place is so much more exciting! I find it very interseting how you can see something regularily but than something changes your perception of it and all of a sudden you are compled to make an image (I like the idea of playing around with a wide angle lens, I must give it a try). The garbage is such a shame, it is much of an issue around here but it always frustrating to see.

I'd rather have epic shots of common locations than common shots of epic locations. I'd just like some epic shots. Gives me something to keep working towards.

I like that outlook on things, I may steal that attitude going forwards!
