Yukiko, I discovered your videos by way of Kara at Boho Berry and I just wanted to say how much I truly enjoy them. There isn't one that I watch that I don't take something significant away from and they are quite motivating!

Reminds me of the Franklin Covey system, thanks for sharing
@yukikosakamura64986 жыл бұрын
Yep, you're right! The Franklin Covey system is an amalgamation of principles laid out in Benjamin Franklin's writings and Stephen Covey's 7 Habits of Highly Effective People (hence, Franklin Covey). I believe Stephen Covey popularized the Eisenhower Decision Matrix. I cannot rave enough about Stephen Covey's book--LOVE IT SO MUCH!

Neat video! There is also the idea of handling 'big rocks first' way of organizing time. I think made by the Franklin Covey system.

Yep! I believe the idea of big rocks first came from Stephen Covey, the author of 7 Habits of Highly Effective People. I often view Stephen Covey as the Father of Productivity. Many management/productivity ideas that persist today can be attributed to him! =D

After watching your video, I laid out the grid and wrote my tasks on small sticky notes. Placed them on the grid and them moved them to open time slots in my day, using the how to plan with sticky note system.

Wow! That's a really creative integration of the different ideas! Thank you for sharing!

Thank you for another enjoyable video. While I have read the theory on this matrix many times, I appreciate you taking the time to show examples of how you put it into practice. As a teacher of young children, I personally struggle with the urgent but not important quadrant!
@yukikosakamura64986 жыл бұрын
Yeah! I found the matrix particularly hard to apply because people talk about it in such theoretical terms, and those who give examples tend to be bloggers/vloggers/entrepreneurs and their tasks don't quite speak to me... What is an example of an urgent but not important task for you? I have a hard time figuring that one out! The theory is that tasks in this quadrant are demands made by other people on me that are unrelated to my goals... But usually, those people who make demands on me tend to be important people in my life... So... if I want to keep the relationship, then the tasks here become important to me too... It's a struggle!

Yukiko, you always have great ideas that make me think! I use the matrix in my head, but I'm thinking that getting it down on paper is much better, because I don't have to go through the complete decision process again after completing each task. I think that putting the matrix up in my office and using post-it notes with tasks lists will help keep my work transparent so that others in the department can see what is happening in my area. Thank you, again!

Gosh, that is such a brilliant idea, Rene! That sounds like a variant of the kanban system! Hehe, would love to know how it works for you!

Hello, Ms. Yukiko! I really enjoy your videos and heard about you from another planner vlogger! I’ve used some of your techniques for my own Hobonichi on my channel! Thanks for always sharing your cool new techniques!

Hi! I'm glad to hear you have used some of these techniques. Some of the ones I feature on my channel work for me, but others don't. I must make a video on that someday on what worked and what didn't and why... =D

Ah! I think I should have used a marker to write instead. The lines might have been too thin for the camera to pick up! Thanks so much for the feedback =)
