Not sure why the music volume jumps up for about 90 seconds starting at 11 minutes. Anyhow, during those 90 seconds I explained my gripe with the tires. They have a tendency more than any tires I’ve ridden to pick up gravel and dirt and chuck it right into the frame. They’re ok for trail riding, I absolutely dread using them in the road however.

A city or gravel bike really should have fenders. Nice bike. Love single speeds...!

@@PRH123 this one specifically as the paint is a bit iffy. That said, this will be a beater, so, I’m not sweating it. Would love to check out their Apollo.

Could you do an update video on this bike or at least leave a reply here of how you are liking it? I was thinking about getting the Hot Sauce version with the 7 speed Shimano Nexus hub.

Go for it, if I could go back, I'd get the 7 speed. There is nothing wrong with a single speed belt drive set up, however, it is just a novelty, nothing more. A single speed chain bike is just as simple to maintain, if not easier considering replacing a chain takes just a couple minutes. On multi speed commuters I get a higher end belt drive, on a single speed, I would much rather have a chain drive with higher end components such as bakes and wheels. I ride my Sauce often, its fine, it is easy to pedal, but I think the hot sauce is a better option especially considering you can get it now for 30% off msrp. If you want a single i think a similar qwuality chain bike would be half the price and in the 700-800 price range you can get something of much higher quality, in line with what surly has to offer.

@@iakona23 i don’t think there’s any outlets. Note that if you’re someone that has a tendency to get rid of bikes regularly expect to lose at least 50 percent when selling. Not many people know about priority.

@@ChefCIntencity they have different promotion at different times, if you wait until Black Friday they’ll face a sale for sure. Not sure if there’s any sales now.

Anything new to report at the 5 month of ownership? Is the single speed fairly usable or would you recommend getting 7 speed version? Thanks. 😃👍🏻

I’ll do an update in a week or two. Generally, it’s a decent bike, as I’ve said in the video the powertrain and design are its strong features, everything else is as expected for a bike in this price range, if this was a chain drive, I’d see this bike being priced around 400-500. As far as single vs the nexus set up, the biggest benefit to single is just the fact there’s nothing to it, if the nexus is really reliable and truly maintenance free, yeah, no brainer to get the 7 speed.

@@nemanjatosovic Yeah, not sure how reliable is the 7speed nexus, efficient, maintenance and cost if it fails.. looks like whole rear wheel would have to be replace if nexus fails. 🤔 also wondering if single speed would not be too rough on knees.

@@javierrodelo7352 it’s set up for cruising not speed so I don’t find it difficult to pedal, but your milage may vary. Do some research on the nexus, if there’s no issues, go for it. Otherwise, if you’re going single, idk, you’re probably better off going chain drive and getting a better quality frame.

I do it on my phone so sometimes when I split the clips I forget to turn the music down. I’ll do a 1000 mile update in a week or so.

I daily it to the gym. I quit my job the other week so I got some time lol. I snatched up an e-bike too will do a video on it as well.

@@Julian-pj4yv yeah, I got done with grad school, then had two jobs for a whole. It was too stressful. Now I just tutor kids on the weekend and will relax for a bit before looking for something else. E-bikes are interesting, there’s so many out there. But, I wasn’t a fan at first, now, I kinda like them. They may even be a better choice than a 50cc scooter for some. My e-bike is an Aventon, they’re considered budget friendly, and I got mine used, it’s been fun, there’s some cut corners but generally I’ve been happy. The best thing is they’re fairly quick, they get you places fairly fast, plus you can leave them Anywhere and take bike paths too.

I’m interested in the Sauce. I asked them if they’d addressed the easily chipped paint and they pretty much blew it off, saying they weren’t aware of any issue and MTB’s are expected to be chipped, anyway. 🙄

If you can live with the chips it’s a good bike. I’d probably go with the 7 speed, if you want a single speed, going chain is probably best route as it’ll cost a lot less for same or better quality.

@nemanjatosovic the 5,000 mile x max review would be great for the scoot community. I saw one in my area coming home from work. Might wanna get a 2024 x max but I gotta pay off my used highlander first. Haha they redid the front lights and an all digital display on the 2024 x max. I don't forsee them making any changes anytime soon.

@@Stopcrying70 the new one looks sharp, I like the integrated turn signals, as for the display, I’m not sure why, I prefer the analog one on older models.
