Hello. I've just happened upon you today and I'm so glad I did. I've, obviously, subscribed to you - well why on Earth not - YOU'RE VERY GOOD!! First I've got Prismas, love them, got 72 then 150 sets. However, I don't love using them because, as you said, they just take too long!! I get mine out, take ages deciding upon a page to work on, chose my colours, then sit and look at it and put it all away again without doing anything at all or doing maybe one leaf or flower and feeling I've ruined a page because I just don't have the patience or any training other than watching tutorials, like yours. Sorry I'm rambling - it's just you say so much that I feel and I've just, 2 days ago, purchased my very 1st Kerby Rosanes book Imagimorphia and it's gorgeous but scares me. I'll shut up now and go away 🤗😁. I'm glad I've found you. That page you showed at the beginning is AMAZING - REALLY GORGEOUS and shows the level of talent you DO HAVE. 💖🤗👍
@tinyworldsofwonder2 жыл бұрын
Aw, that's so kind! Thank you! I totally know the feeling of being daunted by a page. I rarely have the patience to work on one project for more than an hour, which makes me a serial starter. I usually do come back around to my projects, but holy cow, Prismas can really be a slog! Thanks for the comment - I loved reading it! :)

I learned SO DANG MUCH from this tutorial and that macaroon was a work of art when you were done with it. Absolutely beautiful. I think the main reason I learned so much was because of your explaining every step you took, and why. I can’t wait to try out your techniques with my beloved Prismas. I honestly think my pages will come out a lot better now after watching your video. Thank you so much for sharing your artistic talent with us. You are WONDERFUL!

I am not sure why your video came up in my recommendations, but I am glad it did, not because I needed it, but rather because as I watched, I would wish that all newbies could see this....(especially those using Prismas) ....the tips you gave were spot on....first one being, become more aware of your surroundings and how the light plays on objects. Second one being, don’t be afraid of using reference photos....and talking about using multiple layers to get a better colored image. Can’t even begin to tell you how many times this comes up in conversations! Great job! (P.S. You were also right about not really needing the biggest set of pencils...those give more colors, true...BUT smaller sets, if used properly will teach you how the colors will interact with other and if one is willing to “play”, they can learn to blend the colors they do have, to make other colors.)

Figuring out where to place the shadows is the hardest part for me. I figure that once I learn that, I'll be okay. I keep trying, but it never looks right. That's the part that I really want to learn how to master: deciding where the shade and the shadows go. I need a crash course so that I can practice over and over again.

I've went through several pieces of blank paper here recently from using them to test colors. Although I've only been using Crayola so far. I can color pretty decent though and my older sister saw a couple of the things I've colored. So she ended up surprising me with a pack of Prisma Color pencils. Haven't used them yet.
