I've come across some negative reviews and postings on Prismacolor colored pencils. Specifically the Premier Pencils. I must admit I have not been overly positive on the Prismacolor Scholar pencils myself. But I felt I needed to point out that the Prismacolor Premier Pencils are great pencils for the price when compared to other Artist grade colored pencils. And while they are more expensive than the student grade Scholar pencils, you are getting a far superior pencil. My lightfast results show that they stand up much better to light exposure and while they don't do as well as some other artist grade pencils, they do perform much better than any student grade pencils.
Being it is boxing day, this is one of the few times a year where you can get amazing deals on art supplies and I often use this time to stock up on my own supplies.
Prismacolor Premier pencils tend to be one of the only artist grade pencils that are significantly cheaper than other artist grade pencils. Usually at less than a dollar a pencil whereas most artist grade pencils come in around $2 a pencil. Plus I find they are quite nice to use. I recommend the 72 set as it gives you a very good selection of colors at a reasonable price.
