@@craftaquatic6472 Where do you keep your parameters? Corals look healthy. Also, what is the purple colony far RT on top of the green Spongodes Montipora? CC Multi-Media?

Glad to see this update. How does one purchase corals from you?
@craftaquatic64722 жыл бұрын
If you are local, I’d be happy to fresh cut, if the colony is ready. Have a few frags mounted on plugs in the basement system too. Not currently mailing frags. Shipping and materials have gotten far too expensive

Tank looks great. Personally, I added a little seachem prime to my water change water no matter what. It will neutralize any chloromines that make it through the filter.

Spectacular tank!! Do you have much in the way of coral aggression between the acros?
@craftaquatic64722 жыл бұрын
As I mentioned, the limelight Hydnophora will sting some species of coral around it, if allowed. I also have a red planet over growing a Fox Flame in the back of the tank, which I am actually happy about since it’s my only example of a RP. Where I do observe aggression, it is typically in the form of encrustation or shading with minimal stinging or tissue damage. I do trim mainly SPS coral back when I see the need, but for the most part allow the coral to do their own thing. I will likely lose a few, over time, but see that as being the natural progression of this reef.

New subscriber! Tanks looking great. I have a 120 also. Great size for a reef.

Thank you. Agree. Can’t go wrong with a 220 / 120 / 75 / 40 breeder for a standard mixed reef tank.

Great video and even more amazing reef. I can only hope that my sps look as good as yours. You think there's any chance I could see your light schedule? I know your running the 64's and I'm running the 32's. I'd just like to see how they compare as I've always made my own schedule too. TIA. If need be I can email you.

Wanted to ask you about sps colors, I have had a problem with all my corals turning green or greenish. I lowered my nutrients and that just brought on dinos so I upped the nutrients and got rid of the dinos but the coloration got a little better but then is still darker and turning greenish. I also tried using potassium but every time I measured it, it keeps on telling me it is at 450 when normally it should be 400 so couldn't add any more. I used salifert for the test for that. Any ideas or have you had this problem? Thanks for all your information too and as always great video.

In my experience, SPS coral can take a brown or green detour on the way to coloring up. It takes them time, sometimes years, to acclimate to new water conditions. Just remember, that every time you change something you may actually be re setting the entire process. For me, I focus on core nutrients alk/cal/mag, first getting them to remain steady. I set my lights once and don’t mess with them. Once I see growth and encrusting bases, I test for NO3 and PO4. Every system is different though. Sort of like a puzzle, until you figure it out, especially with SPS. Personally, I wouldn’t be adding anything other than the above mentioned, at the point you are at, other than weekly water change. Focus on stability and don’t try to force the color. Just get the coral comfortable by managing your stability. Once you see healthy polyp extension and basal development, the color will slowly improve. Hope that helps.

@@craftaquatic6472 , makes a ton of sense , others have been telling me raise this dose that to enhance this color and that color. I did have to cut back my whites during the dino outbreak but I am back to my old light schedule. I need to follow my schedule better especially feeding. Thanks so much!!

That naso tang needs a much bigger tank :/ , tank isn’t wide enough or long enough plus it’s all cramp up with all those corals
@craftaquatic64722 жыл бұрын
Thank you for sharing your opinion, but sharky, our Naso, was a rescue at 3” long. Practically a goner, when we got him. If I ever find a tank that I think he’ll be happier and healthier in, locally so our family can visit him, I’ll consider it. Until then, in our tank he remains. As reef hobbyists, sometimes it’s best to stick with what we know is best for our fish and reef, over opinions of others
