Nice Vid Abe.. I honestly love my Hanna checkers, I've never used the ones you have but the ULR one has been spot on for 2 years. I've had it go up to .4 when my cheato disappeared and at time tested bi-weekly and the reading correspondent well to the algae growth and feeding. I do unload the power on a piece of paper prior to running the test and I always rinse and fill my tubes up with water so no residue can build up. Give the Hanna ULR a try. its much easier to get reading when its in PPB form

Sup Buddy! For me, at this point I don't see the point in checking phosphate becuase it's been over a month since I restarted Rowa and things continue to grow and color up like I'm used to seeing. For the vast majority of time I had Acropora dominated tanks, my phosphate has never been zero and have always had to run Rowa. So what I think is going on is the phosphate test kits are just not picking anything up but there is phosphate really there. Maybe the UL phosphate test will pick something up, but if it does or it doesn't I'm going to run RowaPhos regardless. I trust how well my corals are doing over some hobby-grade test kit that in my experience eventually goes bad.

@@CoralEuphoria Yeah if it works for you just keep doing what you doing.. My Phosphates went from around 10PPB to 137PPB once my cheato died back and this was after not testing for 3 months. Everything was growing very well during this time so I figured id just leave it. After adding cheato in about 2 months it dropped back down to 20PPB (which is .06). I probably test every 2 months but its just good to rule out Phosphates as a sign of any issues, especially in your new frag tank and perhaps QT tank...
@CoralEuphoria
@CoralEuphoria 5 жыл бұрын
@@MrShishi Yeah that is one thing that I didn't mention. My frag tank was blah and also meaured 0.00ppm phosphates. After I added the Rowa to that tank it started to do better. I can't say that Rowa or any GFO or 0 phosphates is the answer for everyone but for me it works.

Wow - amazing tank and I gotta go back and watch more (all) of your videos Can you talk more about your flow - I've heard that rocking is really helpful for corals and may even mean you can use less flow. I have just setup my first tank (observation tank, while I am planning my build) and I got it rocking and love it. I've seen elsewhere SPS growers using the blue cloves to create space between bases and that tuxedo urchins eat them. Thanks so much - there is a heap of great info and the corals just look incredible ;)

Bro, you’re so heavily Acropora dominated that the corals are literally sucking up all the nutrients like a sponge. There’s obviously plenty of Phosphate and Nitrate available because all your colonies are very healthy. They’re just giving you zero readings like Dave’s Nano tanks. Both of you guys have very healthy stable tanks with zero readings due to the coral growth. If you’re at zero Phosphates, I wouldn’t run any GFO unless those colonies are browning out. They look very colorful and vivid from what I’m seeing. BTW...great role playing. 😄

Coral Euphoria - Thx man. That green mili in the front is 🔥. Hey, another quick question. What would be the best way to add Kalwasser in with my two part? Can you recommend a T5 combination ? i have a 4 bulb fixture with LEds , and i agree with you the atinic don't do much . What do you use besides the Blue Plus ? It looks like in the vid you have Coral Plus ?
@CoralEuphoria
@CoralEuphoria 4 жыл бұрын
I went back to actinic and blue plus becuase i get a ton of natural sunlight (not direct) hitting my tank and it was making it too white for my taste , so I went heavy blue. So right now I'm running four blue plus, 3 actinic, and one Coral Plus. It really just depends on your color preference. I was wrong about the actinic bulbs not putting out a lot of par. That is old thinking, when people didn't have the correct par meter to measure that wavelength. But I still agree that it doesn't do much for color in general. I just use the actinic because I didn't want to run 7 blue Plus. I have also used purple plus and aqua-blue special in the past. Unfortunately, with T5 it takes a bit of experimenting. But since you have LEDs, you can kind of tailor that to your color liking, correct? I would think that the whites can come from your LeDs and use blue T5 bulbs? Have you tried 2 blue plus and 2 actinic?

Basically I broke the tank down, acid washed the rocks, and while all that was happening, i plumbed a temporary vat to my frag tank. And i stuck the contents of my 120 in that vat. After i nuked the rocks, I also stuck them in the frag system so they could cycle for several weeks.

hey, this time i want to ask you about the 2 part dosing, i have tried a recipe from ultimatereef, 1 alk, 2ca, 3naclfreesalt, the last 2 week after everything was ok, i started insanly increasing the dauly dose ,alk wont raise and dropped to 5.3, all coral sps most are doing good! i noticed that ca is 450 after it was 420 all the time, i can not figure out if the recipe from ultimatereef not good, or the part 3 from aquaforest has calcium in it and driving the balance out! so i want to try randys 2# recipe, my question is do you dose the 3 part on dosing pump? or the mag par manually? he stated that the part 3 will be not as much as the others, if you put it on dosing pump how much do you dose +/-? and can you tell part 3 in grams? i can not masure in cups :S thanks in advanced

@@CoralEuphoria aha understand, you mentioned that you follow randy's recipe, the #1 or the #2? i stopped the dosing pump for 2 days now, cirrected manually ca and alk, today tested and alk dailyconsumption was 2.6dkh, is it possible?, i have 12 sps frags that are crusting now, few lps that got bigger and noticed coralline build up on the background! on one hand can be 2.6 daily on the other hand i think it is too much, what do you think? until now since 11 months dkh was stable at 7.8! and yes since adding the frags, it started to change!
@CoralEuphoria
@CoralEuphoria 4 жыл бұрын
@@majdsirhan9964 yes it certainly possible to consume that much alk daily. Of course that's going to depend on the size of your system and their rate of calcification of , like you said, the coraline and your Stony corals. But there are other consumers of alkalinity, such as CO2. So it certainly possible. If that is what it takes then just go with it!

Hey man out of 20 years plus of using a calcium reactor. I can tell you that you using the clear lines was not helping the lines at all. using clear lines in a calcium reactor clogs the reactor. Also all those people in California that you've had problems with with your CO2 Exchange. You should have just went to another CO2 Exchange retailer. A calcium reactor is not a hard thing to own it's very simple. Also you should have checked into the kamora pump. It has a microprocessor in it that keeps the lines from clogging and steady drip rate. But if two part is easy for you then go for it I guess. Running on calcium reactor is probably the most steady thing in a reef if set up properly.
